Something wrong with my seedling?

Hey guys, after getting my medical license,
I germinated my seed using the wet paper towel method inbetween two plates, and it had like a 1 inch root. i then planted it into a perlite substrate, and overnight it grew to this: (Like an inch poking through)
However, the stem looks white. Is there something wrong with my seedling? I water once a day using ph7.0 water.

Looks like a normal seedling. Pure perlite is not the easiest thing for a new grower to be using. THe seedling needs to be in the light for a bit to get some color in it.

i had rockwool. but i used all the small ones i had, and now i only have one that's the next size up. would it be wise to let this grow till it's big enough to transplant to the rockwool cube, and then transplant it? perlite is really easy to wash off the plant, once it gets to be bigger, couldn't i just wash away the perlite around the roots and place it in a different substrate? (EG, rockwool?)
perlite is the best i've got right now, there's not much i can do about this.
My plan is to grow this one, and clone it three times and grow it under a 400 watt in my closet.
Furthermore, I was told not to give it light untill it sprouted its first two leaves, as it would be pointless otherwise, as the plant is not able to utilize the plant anyways.

How deep is the cup you have the seedling in? what is it under for lights? What are the temps at? Any further details would be helpful.
My knowledge is very limited w/ hempys, but i might be able to help you diagnose the problem when provide more details of the environment of your grow.
I'm fairly certain you need to run your ph as though you're in hydro. So a ph of 7 is too high.

the cup is about 4 inches deep, it's actually in a mini DWC system itself (I figured it owuldnt hurt, as the roots arent big enough to reach it ANYWAYS, and the bubbling water will keep the perlite hydrated incae i forget to water it for a few hours)
(There are no nutrients in the water, it's just straight up water to keep the seedling moist. I was thinking of adding 1/10th the nutes strength once i starts to show leaves, but i'd like clarification on weather this is a good idea or not-
The water is a mix of ph7 and ph 6, i thought this would balance it out and put me in the middle (Half and half), and i was told DWC like between 5.5 and 6.7 PH. I have a machine that purifys the water and gives me whatever PH i want, (It does not use RO though, unfortunately.)
As for lights, there are no lights. I plan to stick it under one of thoes high efficiency lightbulbs once it grows leaves, and keep it there 24/7 on till it's rather sizable so I can switch it to my 400 watt HPS. (I also have a MH w/digital balast, but I was told to leave that for flowering.)

Water from the tap has enough dissolved solids in to sustain marijuana growth through the seedling phase. Make sure the PH of the water you're feeding her with is within acceptable range (6.0-6.5) before you water.
You want to begin looking at hitting her with nutrients after about the third leaf set comes in (not including the nursery leaves). Plant will be in veg by then. Mix your nutrient solution, then test the PH of the nutrient solution to make sure the nutrient solution is within the acceptable PH range before feeding the plant with said nutrient solution. What kind of nutes do you plan on feeding her with?

Botanicare nutrients.
Still not sure what wuantity to use, according to the back, im only supposed to keep my plant in veg for three weeks, i dont think that's right.
Anyways, im doing a dwc under a 400 watt HPS, im thinking i could easily grow 4 plants under this light, correct?
And at what time should i put my plants under the HPS light? I dont thin i can put a seedling there.....

Well you can put a seedling under an HPS right off the bat. You just keep the light a good distance away.
4 plants can fit under a 400 watt. Hell, 20 can. It all depends on how big you want the plants to be.
If you are going to be going a soilless/hydro route, you will need to get a PPM or EC meter. I prefer the PPM route, that's just a matter of preference though.
What are you questioning about the 3 week veg time? Too much? Too little? The amount of time that you veg your plants is based on how big you want them to be at the end.

I'd like them to be fairly big plants. I'll go with 4 plants, as that's what I have seeds for at the moment.
I'm growing an auto-flowering Northern Lights blue, at the moment, but I have a regular northren lights blue, a white widow, and some other thing I forget.
Anyways, i was thinking of making 4 large plants and trimming them so they have huge canpoies and take up the entire space.
Here is my growspace:
have a PPM meter on the way in a few days. Hope I can get it here before it turns into a vengitative state and then i really need to pay attention.
PS, is there a good resource on how to calculate and use PPM values and such?

I think there is one on the growery....I'll have to look for it.
As long as you just train them to where the light pattern is filled in you will be fine.

thanks for the chart!
I'm having a look at it now. My PPM meter should be coming in a few days.
Will upload a updated pic of my seedling n a bit!

Here's what they look like now!
This is exciting, they're growing so fast. It's something new every day!
I can't wait till it gets bigger. I have a feeling i'm going to really like this hobby.
