 Card is expired. Worth renewing?

So having had the card for a year I can't see what the point is to renew when it won't protect me against DCSS, failing drug tests at work, getting raided, or ignorant landlords. Is there a real advantage to possessing it( giving up your address in the process) when you don't use the dispensaries?

I just renewed. Lost my cultivation rights too, fuck the 25 miles away from dispensary rule.
But, I knew that was going to happen. SO, the reason I renewed is because I am still always going to have bud on me whether im at home or in public, being legal takes the stress away from that.

I haven't heard a first hand account of police fucking with you over only possession. you don't feel exposed by giving up an address where they can assume there will be cultivation?

Not at all. I have police in my home because of a noise complaint. They could smell because I was in full flower. I invited into my basement, showed them how many plants I had, and they left. Just told me to turn the stereo down.
25 mile thing?

In my state it's 25 miles away from any state licensed dispensary in order to have authorization to cultivate

Damn thats nuts. There is a caregiver close to me and says a similar thing. I mostly lost interest in the system when I was told it won't protect your home or rights as a parent. Unless I am mistaken since I have no first hand accounts.

What do you mean protect your home?
It makes you legal. If someone breaks in to steal an ounce from you, you're gonna have the right to call the police on them because you're LEGALLY allowed to have that ounce and tell them that's what they are after.
Having a card to me is also purchasing peace of mind.

Against a landlord who dislikes it in the house enough to evict you for growing it. Is what I meant by protecting my home. And like I said your giving up your address which is very unsettling if the card doesnt blatantly protect the right to use against any authority figure who can turn my life upside down.

Where are you getting your card? The only person who was witn me when I got my card was the doctor. I've never had to give a address to get it just prove I live in Cali and I don't think the doc really cared about that. My card has the city I live in not my address.
Unless you got your card from the state which is just plain stupid. You can also just carry your prescription and not get the card.

In my state the ONLY way to get a card, is through the state. Which lists your entire name and address on the card

Ahhhh.....I know where you are desert dweller. Yeah your state pretty much sucks even with the cards. They even were planning to do the tax stamp thing which may have passed.

The only time I saw that Dr it was just like any other Dr office you would visit and become a patient with. Address emergency contact so on. And just can't help but think that since its a state seal on my paperwork that the state has access to. Same state as you Magash.

My doctor didn't take any kind of emergency contact info. Never had to give my address. He took my drivers license looked at if for 5 seconds and handed it back to me without even making a copy of it. This guy had a office with just chairs in front of a desk didn't even have a exam area and he never did exam me.
I have had a place try and take my address in Oakland. OCBC or some shit like that. I just went to a doc that didn't take addresses in Sacto. There only required to verify you live in the state.
A lot of people don't know how long the cards have been around. Most think it's just a recent thing. This year made the 17th year I've renewed a card.
P.S. You need a different doc

The only issue I had was when I got hit in 1990 before there was a card. Then I use to be a bit crazier and got busted with 10000 plants. Did three in San Quentin for that. Since getting the card I have never had a issue.
