 `150watt HPS enough?

I have 2 northern lights and one 8ball kush plant in a 3x3 tent with a 150 watt HPS I was wondering if this low amount of watts was going to make my yields small, anyone know? Should I get another 150 watt to put in the tent? If not how much should I expect to get with just the one Hps?

They are all in 3 gallon pots in soil/perlite with GenHydro nutrients

Of course a smaller light will get smaller yields, and 150 is pretty small. Might get an ounce or two is my guess. More light is always a good thing.

Im just going to get a 600 watt HPS - have you grown with one and what was your yields? and do i need to get an exhaust system for the heat?

600 watts is great for 3x3!
You don't have an exhaust atm? You'll need one with a 600watt for sure.
I have 3 plants under a 250watt right now but it's a 32in x 32in tent (way smaller)
Pulled a qp last run with 4 plants so I'd say expect 8oz with the 600 in 3x3

Ive seen badass grows with those mini 150s but IMO you need like a 2x2 max. You get decent plants, you just gotta keep em small.

He meant you dont have an exhaust At The Moment...
Ive gone as high as a 250 in a 2x2.5 using only pc fans for exhaust.
Anything higher than that and you need to start looking at real exhaust fans. For a 600 w I would definately reccomend getting an in line air coolable reflector with a sealed lens.
If you dont want to deal with fans and ducting and what not, dont get a 600 w. Its gonna get real hot in a 3x3.
If you do get a 600 and all that...well hey now you can make a mini tent with your 150 and experiment a bit while still having your main grow.

I re read your op and realized you have 3 gals under your 150.
I personally think 3 gals are too big for that light. Shading is sort of an issue with those low intensity lights because the light doesnt penetrate through the leaf the way a 600w would.
Ive seen people get ONE monster plant with those lights, but personally i try to use those low wattage ones for SOG style grows. You need at least 50w per sq ft and running a 150 in a 3x3 is only 16w/sqft.
Your tent is way too big for that light and if you get the plants too big they wont produce much on the bottom. If you use smaller containers such as 1 gals and fill the tent...or even dixie cups (check out magashs pics) youll prolly get more yield even though you have smaller plants.

ok I am getting an exhaust for the 600 watt and going to make a smaller tent for the 150 watt but for a SOG with the 150 - could i put like 8-10 plants in one gallon pots under it or more like 4 or 5?

More like 4-5 if you go with one gal.
I use half gallon square pots for my mini grows if you want a SOG Or even dixie cups.
You just dont want the plants to shade each other with those low watt lights.

is there a preferred light schedule for autoflowering strains, is 12/12 fine or is 18/6 better to get more light on the buds?
