To Flower or Not to Flower?
    #669410 - 05/06/13 04:02 PM (11 years, 7 months ago)

Hey everyone! this is my first grow and more info can be found at:
http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/668438#668438
but I would like to know a couple things before I flower. first I have these plants on a 24 hr light cycle for veg growing. 2 of the 3 plants already have very abundant white hairs (I think are soon to be buds) so from the close ups can you tell me if they are autoflowering? and the other is still short and bushy with no white hairs/buds

I would like to enter the flowering stage by the end of this week so I have something good for the summer :ganja: ive heard that a supplement that is good for flowering is something high in phosphates? like 10-55-10?

any comments on getting ready to flower would be great, or should I even wait longer?
I believe all my plants are female because they all have the pollen receivers.
the plants have all been tied down to prevent getting to close to the lights. plants 1 and 2 are about 4 feet tall and plant 3 is about 2 feet tall.
Thanks for the help!

Heres plants #1 Then close up:
Plant #2 Close up:
Plant #3 (no hairs/buds)

Yeah dude idk how, but those are buds. Per flowers are just the 1 claryx and 1-2 hairs IME

Looks like its about time too. Idk how tall that room is but that third girl looks like its gonna be reeally big.

I usually flower at 12-18in and they are around 30-35in when finished.

Some plants do not like a 24 hr light cycle. I myself don't believe in it but others do. Well like I was saying some strains don't like it. One of those being a strain called Mikado and what happens is some strains just go into flowering even though under the 24 hr light and you have one of those.

Another thing that can cause flowering under veg light is being root-bound. Mikado once again falls under this.

That's kinda what I thought, genetics, so I may have to auto flowers? And since 2 plants have bud formation it'll be ok to switch to like 11-13 hour dark period right?

Not really auto flowers, because if you had 18/6 lighting instead of 24/0 they might still be vegging.

And I never knew you can give 13 hours of light in flower:shocked: this has to increase yield, doesn't it?

No, because if the plant had not been stressed it wouldn't have flowered.

Now by stressing you mean how they are tied down?  I thought that was good for stimulating more of the plant so it gets more light which in turn yields better?
I also bought some nice blooming formula 10-54-10
So what is the best light cycle for flowering?

24/0 lighting for over a month - stress to some strains (probably including yours)

LST is for making an even canopy (otherwise they would look like christmas trees.

12/12 is obviously ideal for flowering

I Am still wondering about what the effect of an extra hour per day would be? Assuming there is a strain that will not stress cause of it.

Not if it's just a minor crack.
