hey guys had a question about soil. Now I know most of you guys like to us foxfarm ofsp. Now I was just wondering if I cant get my hands on that soil from my local hydro store what would be a nother good soil mix to go with?
just wondering cause I don't want to be ordering soil online cause its more to ship one bag of soil then what it cost to buy the soil.
what about FoxFarm Happy Frog Soil Conditioner can use that guy? cause it looks like its the same price as ofsp but it has twice the volume of soil..

It works just fine. Any soil you get at your hydro store is probably going to be just fine. You just don't want to get something from wal-mart or shit like that.

k good to know just figured I would ask here to see what people have used. Cause I would rather use soil that people have used can give a review on instead of going by what the guy at the hydro store just trying to sell me the most expensive stuff he can.
But with that being said I don't mind spending the extra money for better quality but if I can get something just as good or better for less then I would rather do that and use that money I saved and use it toward the other stuff I need.

i was also wondering. what about a soilless grow? would that be cheaper to do cause if im going to have to buy nutrients for my soil anyway and if its cheaper to do a soilless then i can use the saving to buy the nutrients.

Well in a soilless grow you're just going to have to use more nutrients, counteracting whatever you saved. Plus in a soilless you really need to pay attention to your PPM's and pH a lot closer.

Like the MG potting mix I used, which is showing superior results?

And with budget lights too! I think I'm in contention to win "budget grow award".
