Flying at 5:00pm today from Minneapolis to Orlando to be in treatment for a month. Not so bad IMO, I get to skip a lot of the shitty weather in this hell hole, and hopefully this will also get me out of jail.
Also would't be too bad of an idea to take a break from the drugs along with most of the people I've been associating with lately. Especially how nice of a treatment facility it is, I'm thinking of it like a vacation, goddamn its nice to have insurance...
Good luck, however I would take this as an opportunity to learn a little about what they are teaching and maybe when you can return you can incorporate some of it in to your life. Keep in mind that if you don't change anything you are destined to return to the same people, places and habits.

Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

You have one shot at it buddy. Insurance will only cover it once and next time you'll be looking at 10,000 plus. I would take it seriously even if you want to use when you get out. I stayed clean for almost 2 years while in rehab I learned everything I could, and while yes I am not completely clean I am doing much better and if it ever comes to it I have the tools to stop now without paying a bunch of money.
Don't waste it, it was a good learning experience for me.
Didn't leave yesterday due to the fact that it was in such short notice I couldn't get permission to leave the state yet/ I was planning on holding off a week or two but decided it was best to go as soon as possible, will be leaving as soon as I get the go-ahead which should be today.
Also where exactly did I mention I was ONLY using this to get out of jail, the county I'm being charged in are real assholes about replacing rehab with jail time and my attorney said chances are I will still have to do jail. I was just stating some other positive things about me going to treatment. Clearly other than getting my drug use under control and my life back on track.
I am actually looking to get something positive out of this and also I have just been amazed at all the support I've been getting from my friends about it, definitely lucky to have them.
I went for treatment this summer... it was extremely unpleasant, but it was an eye opener.
I learned that, 1. there is always someone worse off and 2. if you live in the past, and you always think forward, you will never solve the problems that are relevant to you.
Don't say to yourself "I'll just go to rehab and then I'll be better" because it's not about them fixing you, it's about giving you the space and support you really need to develop yourself so that you don't ever wind up in the same place.
Really engage yourself when you get there - it will be much more rewarding.
Two books that really helped me when I was in hospital:
The Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tao-Pooh-Te-Piglet-Wisdom/dp/0416199259 This is an amazing book. It's about applying Taoist theory on how to view yourself and how to reconcile with your existence, told through stories about pooh bear and piglet. It's a very comforting and touching piece! I really enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it.
What I like most about Noonday, is he never takes a stance on what YOU should do. It's merely a discussion of literature, treatments, interviews and his own annotations about depression. In that respect, you can just take what you need from the book. You don't have to read the whole thing to understand.
Anyway, these books were a huge help for me. I wish you luck on your journey, and I hope you come back with the fortitude you need to move forward, and to be safe and happy.
