the standard bricks, made by general hydro. I'm kinda feeling under the weather and I have a friend going by the hydro store. I need to fill some 3-5 gallon buckets and I'm not sure how many bricks to tell him to get.
also, I have some buckets to grow in that used to have cat litter. I cleaned them up real good but they are yellow. you think they let too much light into the roots?

what is a standard brick of coir to you? They sell a brick for 11$ that would be more than enough to fill some buckets that size.
If you're worried about light getting through, just wrap the bucket up in some duct tape.

If they're around the same size as the Eco-Earth coir bricks, when hydrating/mixing coir for substrate, one brick always filled the 3 gallon bucket I used up close to the rim.

11 pounds = 4,989.52 grams
One 650g brick (fully hydrated) nearly filled a three-gallon bucket.
Depending on how hydrated it is, how compact, etc. it should fill (4,989.52 / 650) somewhere around 7.7 three-gallon buckets.
I think.

yah man sounds like the same one I buy. One brick is just about enough to get me through two harvests. I run 4, 3 gallon, buckets.
