help identifying a poppy plant

recently I purchased some poppy seeds online. I then planted several seeds and after a few weeks they began to grow. My concern however is that it appears to be two different types of plants. Some are lettucy like most poppies I've seen however several others look like nothing I'm familiar with. So I'll add pics, and if someone could help it will be most appreciated......http://

Hi, welcome to the growery. You would do best to ask this question over on "The Enthobotanical Garden" forum at the Shroomery. There are actual poppy growers there.
Does not look like a poppy though.

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of... The thing that gets me is that all my seeds are identical, thus how could they have been corrupted? I did initially keep them outside, so perhaps an animal, or wind carrying seed, who knows. Whatever the case its certainly a disappointing result. lol

ya dude...
kids in Australia (prob everywhere but mostly in Australia for sure) boil 300- 500 grams of poppy seeds and drink the tea. People have OD off poppy seed tea before so it deff works.
thats why u can fail a drug test if u have a poppy seed muffin

Yeah at first that's what I thought, however it's fresh soil, and most of the seeds are producing the correct species, Which I'm quite familiar with. I guess they could have perhaps mixed my seed, however they all look the same. I hate spending all that time growing wild grass, or something, lol....Should have realized this earlier.....

Yeah the problem with buying seeds from the grocery is that not all poppy seeds are Papaver Somniferum...

Yes the grocery store poppy seeds are from the poppy variety papaver somniferum. Also known as the bread seed poppy or opium poppy. Poppy seeds are legal to sell in the grocery store and via the internet. If you grow papaver somniferum poppies, these are fine to eat, but please do not eat any other poppy seeds varieties as they are toxic.
just order em online if ur scared they wont be opium
and growing poppys indoor is extremely hard (hard to grow enough to be worth it at least) !!! sooo much easier to plant em outdoors in spring

Seeds are extremely cheap as well.
I bought 250 "Danish Flag" seeds online once for around 8 dollars if I remember correctly.

Yeah I like the Danish flag. Though I mostly grow a Persian blue, and a Turkish variety which produces a black flower. Do you guys use peat pellets to start your plants? Also since I stopped using lamps I've had luck with indoor poppies. My problem is if I start with peat pellets it seems like they always form a paper thin stock.....
