 Wife and I just got our med cards, have a couple questions.

So I had a few questions regarding the grow room I'm trying to set up.
In my basement I have room for a 5x5 flower chamber with a ceiling a little over 6 foot, and a veg room of the same dimensions. Temps in my basement stay at about 60 to 65 degrees in the warmer months.
For the flower room I plan on using a single air cooled 1k hps. I have no idea what to use for the veg room light or cooling wise, that is one of the things I would like some input on.
Combined we can have a total of 24 plants we can grow, we would like to get one harvest every three months or so. I plan on starting with soil.
My main question is how many plants should we have in the 5x5 flower room, and what size pots we should go with. I like the idea of a smaller number of bigger plants, but would go with whatever will yield better.
What should I be running in the veg room to pull off a harvest every three months or so? I was leaning more towards taking clones of vegging plants as opposed to keeping mothers, will this work?
That's all the questions I have. Sorry if It's a bit much first time ever growing.

Keep a mother, way easier man. You're veg tent doesn't need to be quite as big as your flower room. I would run a 400 watt HID or HO floros in the veg. As soon as you go into flowering take clones and start growing them out, that way as soon as you harvest you're ready to go again.
I would put them in 3-5 gallon pots, 24 plants is a bit much for 1-1000watt light, unless you're keeping them small. I would run 12. Yield is very subjective. You may want to go with 2-600 watt lights instead, that will cover more area and you can keep them closer to the plants.
Don't forget about carbon filters and a fan to blow air around the grow tent itself.

I was going to get a 1k cooltube and pull air through it with a 465cfm inline and make a diy scrubber.
I will look into going with two 600's if my budget will permit it. If I go with them will the 465cfm fan be enough to cool both?
One more question, will a single 400 watt mh be enough to veg the 12 clones and a mother? If not could I just supplement with some t5's?

400 watt will definitely be enough for the clones and a mom, I run a 430 watt for mine and it does great. Hell before that I was just using walmart shop floros.
Yes the 465 should be enough, remember that you may still need to purchase something to cool the tent down even with an air cooled hood. I would stay away from cool tubes, the reflection pattern in those suck donkey dick.

Yeah I was planning on going with 6-inch. I was thinking if I vented outside using the 465cfm fan temps would stay decentish. It's in the basement so the ambient temp holds around 60ish on the hottest days.
Is 1k in light still going to be too much heat in that scenario?

Hard to say, In a 5x5 you'll probably be okay. But be prepared just in case. You can jimmy rig window air conditioners to get cold air into your tent.

One more question, the only prefab tent I can find to fit in my basement height wise is 4x8. What combo of lights do you think would work best for this?

Would using only one 1k light over a 4x6 area in the tent work alright until I can get another 1k?

Sadly I'm moving so I have to tear down. I am going to buy tents instead of building a bloom room this time. I just have to figure out how to mount my minisplit in a tent haha.
