They are still doing well, even the snapped cola is still flowering strong. How long should I wait before removing the masking tape?
Anyways, Week 5 of flowering start today, christmas day. Took some photos tonight. Here is one zoomed in. I'm dreaming of a white christmas, hehe

Wishing you a Merry-juana christmas and a hempy new year

Time for a new years update.
Had a few issues this week. First, the bar holding my lights came down Luckily it missed most of my plants. 1 of the small critical Jack autos was knocked off its stool, though it luckily landed on its feet.
Anyways, I reattached the lights to the frame of the roof. The next day, the same Critical Jack that fell, was snapped in half I taped her up and couldnt figure out what caused it. The next day when I went to water I noticed the cooltubes reflector fell off. Gah! Its the 3rd incident of something falling and injuring my plants.
Anyways, the little trooper seems to be continuing its flower strongly, no signs of any balls yet, though I wouldnt be surprised if some or all plants hermied by now lol
In the meantime I have been trimming some of the lower foliage on some plants. I have given some immature buds to my brother to smoke (yuck with all the nutes but he doesnt care lol) and he reports that even in this state they are quite strong. I told him it was probably the fertilizer, fertilizing his brain cells lol, he didnt care, haha
Here are some pics of the chemdogs about half way thru flower. They are covered in little white crystals of resin, looking at them magnified is Awesome.

Looking mighty fine man. I'm trying to imagine it had you screened it.
-------------------- In order to grow good weed you need to be part carpenter, electrician, plumber, biologist, geneticist, chemist, and very willing to get dirty.
I've been working with power tools since I was 8, my dad is an electrical engineer who owned a 280 gal fish tank, and I studied biology with a specialty in genetics. Getting dirty comes naturally. I think my parents inadvertently trained me to be a weed grower.
See what you think on my first try.

Sorry I haven't updated as often and sorry for the photobucket pics.
My MacBook died on me I did put it in for repairs, but was told it was a faulty logic board and wouldn't be worth fixing. So I'm gonna have to move the PC into my room. I'm not looking forward to getting used to WinBlows lol
Anyways, I'll upload some new pics when I get home.
Pernicious: Nah I didn't screen it this time. Being my first grow this was more of a test run. I might give the scrog a try on my next grow.
Pics will be uploaded shortly.
Cheers DrMagickz

you should say that you found online that there was a recall on the logic board for your model of comp (there might have been?). So see if they do it. Thats what i did and it 100% was NOT the recalled one but they just replaced the 1000 part for free. 7 year old comp that was dropped multiple times and very obviously so.

Hi everybody,
Just a little update. I wanted to start flushing, so I ordered some florakleen. Was supposed to be here on wednesday but still hasnt arrived, so I did first flush on friday with just str8 water. I wasn't sure how much water I needed to put through them. The plants are in 8L pots, so I put 8L of water through each plant, I figured that should be enough. Anyways, when do I flush again? Do I wait for the soil to dry out? Or can I just flush again? Plants hit 9 weeks on sunday so I'm a little behind. Possible to catch up? Or will I need to just let them go longer?
Sorry for not having any pics lately. My MacBook was not worth repairing according to the technician, so most of my browsing is done on my iphone
Cheers Magickz

you should flush a min of 3x the pot size, all at once, the point of flushing soil or soiless is to remove the nutes still in the medium so the plant uses up the nutes stored in it. So u should run 24l of water through every plant all at once, then feed them Ph balanced water with flushing agent for 7-10 days.
don't worry about being behind, advertised flower time is for optimal conditions. if you didn't have the perfect conditions for 95% of the grow it will take longer, i'm already into week 8 of flower and i read the femmed AK's only take 7 weeks to flower.

Hi guys, Finally got my Florakleen yesterday. It was so late for express delivery lol
Anyways, I took each plant into my Bathtub and Flushed 6 gallons of plain water through each plant. I then put another 2 gallons through each plant with some florakleen and PH adjusted. Even though I only have 5 plants, its hard bloody work lol
Anyways, I have decided after this grow, that large grows aren't for me. I've got lots of big bud on the main colas, but it seems like all the other growth is a waste. Tiny immature flowers, I started culling them, then giving them to my brother to smoke. Anyways, when I say large grows are not for me, I mean large plants. I think my next grow I will do a SOG. I am happy with the 2 little critical jack autos I had. Even though they are only small, they are covered in so many trichomes!
Heres a snap of some of the bud on the Critical Jack auto. I flushed these ladies also (3rd flush, but only first time with florakleen), and think they should be ready to come down in a couple days.

They have so many Trichomes they look kinda furry lols
Anyways, for my next grow, I wanna do a hydro SOG. Do you guys think it would be possible to setup a small Flood and Drain table in my 4x4ft tent? I wanna go completely automated this time, as towards the end of the grow I sometimes couldn't be bothered to check if the plants needed a watering yet, lols, started getting a little lazy, haha

Yessir it looks mighty Fine! Pity I only have 2 of them. And being Auto's they are standing at only 30-45cms tall.
My 5.5-6ft chemdogs look nothing like that. Its dissapointing, hehe Well I guess you get what you pay for. Luckily I have slowly bought some decent seeds over the 3 months I've been growing, taking advantages of specials and promos. The only Dillema now is which ones should go into my next grow
Doing a SOG I may be able to fit them all, but dont think im experienced enough to do a multi strain grow, so we will just have to wait and see what happens

Just wondering, what size is your Flood and Drain table?
The closest size I found is 3ft x 3ft. Will this do? How many plants do you reckon I could grow in it SOG style?

Grow is Complete! I chopped the ladies down today. Manicured all but one plant. I will finish that one tomorrow. Pics and final weights to follow. Happy to say that I have moved my PC from my grow room into my bedroom. Have come to terms that I cannot afford to replace or repair my beloved macbook. So now that I am back online again regularly, you peeps should hear from me more often.
Cheers Magickz

Here's a pic of how I am drying them. I have cut off the leaves and hung the branches from coat hangers in my grow tent. All equipment including lights are off. The only thing operating is my exhaust fan. Is this sufficient? Have I done it correctly?
You may notice there are still some leaves on the plants hanging on the left. I still had half a plant to manicure at the time the photo was taken. I finished it this morning.

Thanks. Am I drying them correctly? I have 2 new seedlings that just sprouted and would like to put them under the lights. Can I just move these into a closet to dry?

You can move them into a closet as long as you get some sort of air flow movement. Even just a few times a day will be adequate. It will take longer, but as long as they dont get mold the smoke will be better with a slower drying process
