This is something i will start to get into soon.I'm sure others as well. i would like this be an some thread one day, im sure there are similar threads -compost teas and what not but this will be an attempt to consolidate the knowledge. please feel free to share any links, also tek's you already use. Why pay for all these nutrients with fancy names and catchy logos. dont get me wrong i am a fan of foxfarms and a few others, you might even catch me using superthrive. But free is always better. and knowing 100% of what you are using is prime.
powders/liquid/hydroponic/soil and rooting/cloning i think we could make a DIY for all of them with for the most art easily attainable items Picture post wold be official but this aint the shroomery right.Of course we will need to know an estimated or exact NPK rating, dosage, shelf life before anything is put into the official thread. another growery member posted this think and its gonna be helpful with this Dynamic Accumulators of Nutrients for Composting i wish you could see similar threads before you make a post. just post general knowledge and will see how the thread develops.

I'd love a DIY clone gel that actually worked nicely and had a good shelf life.

Why should that mean it isn't real?

correct me if i'm wrong but rooting hormone's main useful component is indole-1,3-butanediole, which directly acts on the cutting as a PGR? i'm not so sure i'd be starting trying stuff out just because it seems like a gel...?

lol ynp, I think that's right. There might be a couple others as well?
I thought it was more of a hormone than a growth regulator... unless those are one in the same?!?!?

Tell me about it...i had to find out the hard way. HAND SANITIZER IS NOT A GOOD LUBRICANT!
But really, I love the idea. cloning gel isnt too expensive, but I have to drive for an hr and a half to the nearest hydro store.
Diy ph up & down would be great too

Yall just need to do some reading. There's all sorts of natural sources of cloning gels. Weeping willow branches being one of em. Just boil cut up pieces of a branch in water and then let seep for 24 hours and strain. BAM, homemade cloning solution.

according to the chart above willows(salix) are a good source of magnesium so i was thinking add a bit of crushed oyster shell(or something) and you have yourself cal mag.

www.jrpeterslab.com sells dry citric acid for pH down, dirt cheap. they also have awesome nutrients - i use their 5-12-26 hydroponic anc calcium nitrate on a lot of my stuff. 25lb bag of each plus shipping comes out to $110.

I bought 1.5gal of battery grade sulfuric acid for $18. I'm not sure of the % but about 3tbs into an old GH pH down bottle and the rest RO water makes for one hell of a cost effective... solution.
I only ever really use pH up though.

I'd wager my box of sulfuric acid is much cheaper then the equivalent volume of acids, at the same strength, obtained from lemon juice.
Lemon juice contains an organic acid and will therefore breakdown or be absorbed (or whatever happens to acid, hydrogen bonds and shit) faster than non-organic acids like sulfuric acid. Meaning lemon juice is less stable as a pH adjuster. Same deal with vinegar, though I think it may be more stable than lemon? I wish I could recall more chemistry stuffs atm...

Less stable, perhaps, but does the same job in the end probably? Yeah.
I just use the GH kit. I have to down my tap water quite a bit each usage but still have most of the 16oz bottle or whatever it is. The only thing I'm really running out of is the test drops

I wasn't attacking what you were using in price comparison or whether one worked better than the other. I was merely stating normal household items that can be used to adjust your pH.
And to address the stability of holding the pH, as soon as you adjust your pH in the solution you water with it. Negating this problem. Of course if your running hydro I'm not going to suggest you use lemon juice to adjust your pH, which is where your concern is going to come in.
