So, once I pick a proper male to keep, I plan on letting him go for a few days in the flower room, but then switching him back over to the veg room before his balls bust. Problem is that the veg room will be running 24/0...since his balls will already be grown, will they still bust in the veg room, and then I can off him as I see fit?
I figure that'll stunt any further growth so he doesn't get out of control and fuck up my whole flower room, but still allow me to collect his pollen.
Does that sound right?

! would think he would still open his sack while trying to re-veg it could take longer then 2 weeks before vegetative growth is noticeable.
i would suggest keeping the male in a separate shitty cab with CFLs and even then i would be scared to have a male in the same place.its inevitable that you will be the pollinator.

right on grod. pollen is mint to travel through the air by wind and if your house is "contaminated" with pollen youll get seeds. i would cut off all the balled colas but one and let it ripen. take a ziplockbag and put it on top of the balled cola so the pollen doesn't get to the atmosphere. the pollen will be contained in the bag and you can save it without any hassle.
