It takes very little pollen to make one hell of a lot of seeds. I pick a good branch that has lots of good looking male flowers (weather using a male plant or forced female) and wait till just before the flower are going to open. Cut off the branch and put it in water just like cut flowers the branch will continue to ripen. In a day or two (if you timed it right but it doesn't matter if it takes a little longer just keep changing the water the branch is in so it won't rot) the flowers will start to open. Now just put something under the branch to catch the pollen.

Usually a water color paint brush and I just put it on the buds I want to get seeds from.

In a free air type environment though, won't the pollen granules kinda float around and pollinate stuff at random?

Thats really good to know, that lingering thought has kept me from making my own seeds in fear of pollinating my whole crop. Now I kinda hate myself for letting my beautiful white widow x big bud male die out a few months back..

I've been under the lights for almost 30 years now. I've heard that the whole time "be careful applying pollen you'll pollinate your whole crop". I'm not saying that it can't happen by any means but have you ever heard of it happening?, cause I haven't. Only in theory.
Maybe a few stray seeds but a whole crop, you would have to pretty much sneeze into your pollen bag while standing over the plants.
Turn off the fans, apply the pollen and they will be fine. (Once the pollen has been applied turn the fans back on)

I've heard of a number of growers pollinating their whole crop one of them that sticks out is someone who had a male upstairs where the intake to their basement flowering room is. This basically fits under the sneezing into a bag of pollen category though.

Yeah that's great but we were talking about during the process of applying the pollen to make seeds.

You need to store a male and collect pollen before you can apply it. It's slightly off topic, but food for thought.
