that is a good questions.
i think no matter what strain your growing, your gonna have to scrub the air somehow. especially if your concerned about the smell at all..

The most effective way is to use a carbon filter. If you're growing indoors, you're using a ventilation system anyways, so you simply get the carbon filter and put it ahead of the extractor fan.

Ok so say you were growing in a closet in a box and you had a pair of negative ion generators running in the closet outside the growbox. Then on top of that have a glade airfreshener in at least two of the outlets out in the room the closet is in. How do you think that would work? Also do you thik that a plant can produce a good yield at a height of like 2'-3'? I am just starting to think about growing mj and have already tried growing shrooms with success, but i still have a bunch of questions. btw does anyone here have a medical mj card in colorado that can tell me about hwo they got it?
Thanks JP

I'd be cautious about using negative ion generators. They carry with them adverse health concerns, for both you and the plants, and shouldn't be ran constantly or too close to them. A much more effective way to handle security concerns with smell is to simply use a carbon filter with an extraction fan, which should be necessary anyways due to the need for fresh air exchange for the plants to grow healthily. If you post the dimensions for your grow space, we can help you figure out what size fan to look for with which rate of extraction.

Definitely, if the various factors that contribute to a successful grow are maintained well, such as enough light at the right spectrum, air exchange/temperature/humidity, water, nutrients, proper pot size.

People can smell grow houses from the drive way. It depends how you handle the air. If you don't do it well the entire house will begin to reek as the plants start to flower. If you handle it well you can keep it to a minimum, i hope you have chosen a good safe grow house for your plants. If you didnt own the grow house unwanted visitors may become aware of your intentions.
