Captain Caveman's Product Review
    #583032 - 09/02/11 01:12 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I started a thread to warn people about some of the junk out there that I think people should stay away from and I wanted to start one for more of a review than a warning. Here it goes.

Ultimate Pant Cage

The Ultimate Plant Cage is manufactured by Global Garden Friends, Inc. It was about $14 where I bought it and it was easy to put together.

I currently use bamboo sticks and end up with about 20-30 per 7 gallon smart pot. Those buds are heavy! I'm to the point where I'm starting to use small white metal fencing stuff along with the bamboo sticks to build an individual plant SOG just small enough around to fit through the veg and flower doors. This one is early on in the process.

Fist impression is that it has spots for 6 sticks but only comes with 4. :wtf: So I already need to look into getting 2 more sticks...kinda lame.
Beyond that, it looks like the sticks will funtion very similarily to the bamboo ones. The most promising part is the stakes that dig into the medium. I'm hoping that will give a bit more solidness to the structure I build around it.

Oh yea, it has spots to hold 3 drip lines if thats how you water.

I'll get this going on my next plant and post updates. :peace:

Eye-Hortilux 1000 watt Super Blue metal halide

THEESE BULBS ARE AWESOME! They're expensive but they are worth it in my opinion. I have one in the veg cave and I just got another and put it between the 2 1000w Eye-Hortilux Super high pressure sodium bulbs. Those buds are going to be dripping resin on the floor!!:hehehe:

That is my review.

If you have the extra cash they're great.  But if you are strapped, a regular MH works just fine.  There are also some alternatives out there, I forget what the names of them are though at the moment.

Hey Hawksapprentice...whats MH mean?

I just found this video on those cages online:

Looks quite promising. I'm gonna see if I can find where to buy so I can give them a try.
