So I used about 10 grams of stems from midds, and soaked them in 91% isoprophyl alcohol and strained out the liquid. I let it fan out over night and here are my results.
This is the better part
This is from the edges, kinda oily.
This is a still drying plate from the second flush.
Am I getting bad results because I'm using such low quality cannabis?

pretty good results IMO from only using stems, and especially from mids, to make that oil easier to handle stick it in the freezer

The number one thing you need to do is put the plant material in the freezer along with the iso for a few hours before you do the hashification.
Then only shake it for about 30 seconds before you strain it.

I never really weigh my stuff. I'd say about an oz of frosty frosty trim. Maybe more, maybe less. I usually do it when I'm sitting around bored and decide its time to make hash.
I get a low return of about 2g from that, but I only do one run. And the stuff I get is incredible. One "match-head" sized ball gets me 10/10 high for about 4 hours if I smoke it in my hookah.
I usually bake with my iso though.

Also- shit, I thought you said "stems AND mids" not just stems from mids. That could be the problem. Stems aren't gonna do much for ya bro.

stems don't do much, but they do work. Looks like there is a lot of pulp in that last pic, either u used a metal strainer or coffee filters that broke. Stems are filled with pulp that turns to powder, if you broke the stems up at all that will add to your pulp content.
I have made stem hash many times back'n yonder... 'n yester year... in my youth. I seemed to get about 2-8% yield, but when you're smoking mids all the time, a few hits of hash is golden.
First pic looks like the good stuff.
