Hash made using 180 proof or higher alcohol is good but tends to be a bit harsh after smoking for awhile.
Now, like any hash, quality of the end-product will depend on the grade of material used, duh. I used some nice and frosty trim this past week to make an isopropyl extract but stuck with Inverted's instructions to stick with a gentle, 20-second swirl without any soaking before filtering.

I find if using a small amount of material you can get away with just filtering through a fine wire mesh coffee filter holder instead of using the actual paper filter. Make sure to not powder the material you're working with, as Inverted points out in his original post.
EDIT: Reworking/rewriting this filtration process.....figuring out specific micron sizes before rewriting this........

Inverted (when you get around to reading this), I really really think you should do a small pictorial and ask to have it stickied in this particular forum.
There obviously aren't a lot of "sticky worthy" threads as of yet in this fine forum, but the method you outlined produces an end-product that is of much higher quality than what everyone associates with alcohol hash. AND the two pics you provided in the thread I linked to in my OP simply don't do this stuff justice.
Though I am in a strict habit of not sharing pics anywhere on the internets I will probably contribute a selection of pictures to show how well this method works, however I will not have more trim for another two or three months so my pictorial contribution to any thread on this will wait--I guarantee more folks will try this if they see how nice looking some of this is.
The strain I had used for my run this past week was Rocklock (which is Warlock x RockStar). Again, I think dry sieve and ice hash beat this stuff for flavor, but potency is great.
