I want to use the simple jar hash method posted below to make some half way descent hash. I have a good amount of fluffy buds that Would be good for this, do I have to cure it before making hash? will this add to the potency? or does it not matter when it comes to making hash?
Your question is way too broad. Dried material is preferrable for some hash production while sometimes fresh, undried material may be a better choice. Start by telling us what you want to do.
Kief and quick-wash iso, for instance, are best produced with dried material. Curing the bud would affect the taste, sure. But kief and finger hash, in particular, are known to be best tasting and smoke smoother if cured some after being made.
Ice hash AKA bubblehash is best produced with bud/trim that is still fresh (if frozen first). Less debris in final product.
With some oils I just don't think it would matter a whole lot when starting with dry bud/trim and your best bet would be to use it sooner than later to ensure that no cannabinoids are degrading in the starting material. You can make BHO with fresh, frozen material though.
