Well we all know about playlist.com but how do we capture those songs??? This program does it all you do is hit record start browsing and anything you play whether youtube or playlist or whatever it records it, puts the name of the song as the file name...Great program.

Bandicam lets you record all sound and video, but there is a better firefox addon if you use that but I don't so this works great.

Keeps you out of trouble no downloading and its good quality music.

Don't say I never told you anything.

Careful doing other stuff though. It literally records EVERYTHING.

So if you get an error during recording, your song will have that windows bleep sound in it.

Or at least thats how it used to be like 4 years ago. They've probably improved it since then.

Also, check out Pandora if you want, thats a good one to record too :]

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

You can rip the actual file. You don't have to use some ridiculous method using some VCR-like program.

For example, right now a search for "eminem" on playlist.com ( http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#eminem/all/1 ) gives "Not Afraid" as the first song. Using Firefox's AdBlock Plus, I'm able to obtain the URL address of the audio file.

http://cdn1-03.projectplaylist.com/e1/v1_0_0/W0mHhNTnrIT1i6hHAHQuIlKCV0Y_hCf4ugNPgUp1TfQifxw47P8nRG65atoL6vIcw1XVWyoGUqmfL_vD1kQ2fLOFJpUIcJs6t274I3bJp6A=?e=1309093435&h=bfb420041276088ffbe8e0f5ce27676d

Now if you plug that into your browser and go to File -> Save As... you will simply save the audio file to your computer.

There are better programs than Ad Block Plus for this purpose. Ad Block plus lists every single URL on a web page. There are programs that only detect audio and video URLs. Note that with Ad Block Plus, and I would imagine other programs, the URL doesn't exist until you hit the play button.

It doesn't save it as MP3. I'm not going to go look but I'm pretty sure it saves as .FLV(flash)...Which is not really compatible with all media, but to each his own.

Saving a file and converting is easier than recording.

It doesn't record, it downloads the song to an mp3 file in literally seconds...Doing that manually unless you are on a linux machine and even then its not going to be faster than this.

You can't dispute it, I've done what you are talking about trust me I've been doing this shit for a long time and this is a very nice simple free program and saves you a lot of time.

You shouldn't convert to MP3. You should convert to WAV (just as compatible with MP3 players and stuff). Because when you do the MP3 thing you're taking an already-compressed file and compressing it again.

Excuse me, but you're method is fine, it's just that I'm pointing out that if you don't want a doubly compressed file, you're gonna have to use WAV.

I got what you are saying now I was a little confused. I just couldn't understand why you would want to go through that and end up with the same quality but bigger file more than likely than doing it my way.

This is a weed site, we do things the easy way here.

Yeah, mp3 is a pretty shitty format.  I hope it becomes extinct soon, but it doesn't look that way.

Yea, I don't see it happening but I agree back in the day I used WAV files a lot even though they were bigger because the quality is notably better. MP3 is just so easy to use and the standard for everything so I always try to keep the same file type, idk why I guess it wouldn't matter especially with HDD's being as big as they are today.
