The Smurfberry Experiment

Okay, so I was told a couple of things about AFs that I would like to try to disprove. a) a 5 gallon bucket is overkill b) AFs need a nutrient program like any other cannabis c)AFs grown indoors under 24/0 lights(even cfls) yield more than an outdoor AF.
Note: My indoor setup has been dismantled so I don't have a control specimen, however I've grown a few AFs under cfl's; I'll know the difference.
I planted a Smurfberry in a 5 gallon bucket using Gardener's Gold organic soil 1 week ago. I am only going to give this plant filtered water throughout the whole grow. My goal is an oz. from her, and a full 5 gal rootball. Here she is at 1 week

From what I've read, AFs perform better with deep pots and not so much wide pots, good soil with no nutes and nirvana seeds says that 24/0 is not ideal for AF strains.

Day 14 I don't know if this fucks up the experiment: when she was about 4 days old, a squirrel dug her up. When I replanted her I watered with superthrive(1drop/gal)
Anyways, she's doing great; already showing sex.

Day 26 I'm beginning to be impressed.. She's 17" tall, a bit more length between nodes than I like, but she's stout and healthy. Every branching has a pair of heavily swollen calyxes with a red hair at the tip. Sorry for the shitty pic quality; i only have my cell cam at the moment..

Day 34 Can't really see in the pics, but trichs are forming nicely. I think they should be a little fatter, but we have had nuthin but clouds and rain for the last week, and no end in sight. Starting to worry about bud mold although there are no signs yet..

Sagarmatha Seeds..I've read a lot of bad things about them, but I haven't had a problem yet..out of 18 femmed auto seeds 15 germed, sprouted, and were female.

Never grown out autos do you experience loss of potency?

No. I've grown out Himalayan Blue Diesel and Russian Rocket Fuel, and they both were extremely stony...Just a small yield, 1/2 oz per plant under cfls..this is my first auto grow outdoors. I'm expecting to double that weight. Not bad for 9 weeks total

Agreed on the potency, I grew out a Dynafem Roadrunner #1 and it was great weed.

Harvested on day 60. Totally surprised with the results.. I only got 20 grams dry, and when i pulled her, the rootball was still only fist-sized. Lots of very fine spider webby roots all over. That said, this was some damn fine smoke. Super sticky and very tasty, it is also very stony...I couldn't smoke it at work and function. So it looks like a huge pot is overkill. Plain water with no nutes seemed to have no effect on potency, but maybe some on yield. Ironically, I have a Lowboldt in a pot about 1/4 the size of this one and looks like it's gonna outproduce the smurfberry by a good bit. This plant has also been given no nutes, just molasses for the last few weeks, and I just gave her some Gravity tonight.

Sorry, I promised my wife I wouldn't post any cellphone pics, and our camera shit the bed...That's why I deleted all the pics in this thread; don't want my wife freaked out, however unjustified it may be.. I may have a new camera by the time the Lowboldt is ready(a few weeks).
