I live in the northern midwest, I have 20 - 1 week old seedlings, im in the process of germing an additional 20. I have dug 3' X 3' holes in the ground. I plan to mix 1/2 garden mix composted soil with 1/2 original topsoil (location used to be a lake hundreds of years ago, very rich) I have grown a few times but still have trouble figuring out a good estimate of harvest. so if I started a week ago and have til mid to late october, is 1-2 oz. per plant a fairly good low estimate? in the past ive been disappointed but have never put this much effort into it. last year i had 1 X 1 holes and good topsoil and managed about 1 oz per plant, each was around 3-5 feet tall.
Do you think I can manage to get 3-4 foot plants bearing 1-3 Oz this year even this late due to great soil conditions and massive amounts of root space, they are already taking off and we havent had any sunny days. I am fairly experienced and think this is possible, do you?
P.S. I'll have pics tomorrow!

that is definitely a very modest estimate, a 3x3 hole is huge!

It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." - Abraham Lincoln

Thank you I really needed to hear that, I was thinking with so much root space I could make up for lost time. with so much good airy soil I think the root structure will explode resulting in rapid growth and large bushy plants, I increased the second germination to 30 seeds so 50 plants this year with 4 months left, lets do it!
