You can literally ferment anything that is not toxic. Throw in a couple of pounds of fruit, berries, whatever per 3-5 gal H2O, mash em up seeds, skins and all. You can use any cheep frozen/canned stuff providing it doesn't have preservatives that are going to kill your yeast. Add one orange or two lemons, not so much for flavor but to kill any harmful bacteria. Get a champaign yeast and add as much sugar/honey as the yeast can handle. Brew that sucker out for 5-7 days and rack it into a carboy (a plastic water bubbler works great and doesn't mess up the flavor).Put a balloon over the top with a tiny pinhole if you don't have an air lock. Champaign yeast will ferment really dry leaving you with about 22% alcohol. If you like your grog a little sweet add more sugar after fermentation. For a twist add a little cinnamon or clove, walnuts, apple wood, whatever to the brew.

Forgot to mention: One real ghetto method that is cool for parties is to take a large pumpkin, carve out the top, dump your water, sugar, yeast right into the pumpkin, put the top back on and stuff it in a trash bag for a few days. Just plop the whole pumpkin on the table when ready to serve.
