Nutrients (Grow - Micro - Bloom)
    #491745 - 10/26/10 09:19 AM (14 years, 2 months ago)

I am newbie on growing,
I use only normal soil & 15% pelite on it
I bought Advance Nutrients Grow Micro & Bloom
But I don't know how & when to use
Should I mix all with the same water or each on different water?
and Should I give them daily or ... ?
The person I bought told me I should give three of them from the seedling
Thank you for help

You bought a person?

Seriously though, you mix all three into one container at varying ratios during the whole grow. Always add the micro to the water first. AN nutrient calculator. Since you are growing in soil I would recommend 1/3 of their recommended dosage and wouldn't feed the plants for a few weeks. Also I don't have any personal experience with AN, I've always used General Hydroponics 3 part nutrient.

AN 3 part and the GH 3 part are more or less identical.

Mix the micro first always, all three parts go into the same water. Either feed a diluted rate for soil or once every 2 or 3 waterings. As for when to start feeding, that would depend on how hot your soil is. If you're running a very hot soil you can go a few weeks without feeding.

Why always mix the micro first? I have never been told this before...

If you mix them in a different order the nutrients precipitate out of the solution. They basically bind up and become insoluble clouding up the water. Non soluble nutes are not available to the plants.

Some people pour a tsp of each component into a 1gal jug and just fill with water but the directions on the bottle say to pour in micro and stir well before anything else for good reason.

Thats odd, when I was using those nutes I always did them in the 'GMB' order and it mixed perfectly, and stayed completely mixed for days if it didn't get used right away. The bottle's I have don't say anything about it either. Maybe its on the new bottle's.

From what company?

As far as I know all the grow micro bloom brands are identical. Just because you can't see any precipitation doesn't mean it mixed perfectly. Mix them at a high concentration and you will likely see precipitation.

They're Advanced Nutrients, had them up to about 1000/1100ppm, and didn't notice anything, I always pay pretty good attention to make sure everything is mixed thoroughly.

I'm not trying to contest what you're saying, just saying it never happened to me.

Later on I'll mix some up at 1500-2000ppm just for the hell of it and I'll take some pictures and see what we find.

I can't remember the concentration I used to show the precipitation to someone. Probably around 4.0EC or 3000ppm. Advanced Nutrients 3 part system is the same as General Hydroponics.

It would be great if you did.  The levels of precipitation in this product are minimal, but for best use it does help to follow the directions.

I was at a local hydro shop last week and we got in to a similar conversation.  To test this out, we took a mix of equal parts of GH Flora series up to 2500.  We saw some traces of precipitation and we all agreed that we would get more visibility if we let it sit over time.  We also agreed that coldness might help it settle out faster too.  The owner capped the bottle and put it in the shop's mini-fridge.  We are supposed to check it out again this Friday afternoon.

I am not a cannabis grower.  I find the cannabis growers to be the most open to experimenting and sharing out of all of the different botany groups I enjoy.  I frequently use the suggestions that I find to apply to own organic gardening and food production.
