This is my first go round with hydro/soiless mediums, but I have been growing for +/- 10 years. Most of that is just outdoor, bagseed lite fert. grows. Have had one succesful indoor soil/flouro grow as well.
I've been interested in doing a hydro setup for a while.. Just wasn't sure what route I was gonna take, then coming here and seeing results like Harry's convinced me to go hempy.
-Bagseed -Straight perlite -Vegging under two 48" daylight t5's -Sprouted and put under light around the first -Nutes = Advanced Nutrients Grow/Micro/Bloom
They have been getting nutes of 1:1:1 at 1/4 strength for the past week or so. I started when noticing the first signs of abnormalities. PH is a little high, being 6.2/6.5ish. No reading on PPM ( I know, I know.) New meters are on the way, should be here in a week or so(also still need some Up/Down). These plants are'nt too important, just trying to get a feel, and a good grasp on this method of growing before my fem beans arrive. I'd appreciate any input you may have, thanks!

Well just like you already know, you need to get the pH down a little. And then start slowly uping your nutrients.

I have not used Advanced Nutrients, but if they're anything like GH flora series, increasing the nutrients will bring the pH down some.

Never heard of stright Pearlite grow, should be interesting to see the difference between that and soil grow.
What made you decide to use 100% pearlite?

The nutrients do bring the PH down, and it actually says right on the bottle that it can be used exactly the same as GH 3-part. I just didn't wanna give 'em too much too early, so I decided the ph being a little high would be better than burnt plants.
To be honest I'm not 100% sure on straight perlite just yet.. Still considering mixing in some coco for the real grow. I've seen quite a few logs bouncing around the net where people had really good results using nothing but perlite. It simplifies, I'm always for uncomplicating the process.

I saw that a while back, and just haven't checked in for a while. Looks good, we have similar setup's. I'll be sure to keep an eye on your log.
I'm gettin' excited, package came in today. I've not had the chance to work with truly good genetics yet.

Yea I think I would go some coco just to make sure its dense enough to hold up the plant, mind you I'm not an expert hahaha

I like pure perlite, it holds the plant up just fine

Hey man, that dosent look like a N deff. Maybe a bit as I see slight yellowing, but theres something else to blame for the rust spots, could be Cal but looks more like Iron or Mag to me.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure either. I remember my last Mg deficiency didn't really look like that, but we all know the same problem can present itself in different ways. Seeming to clear up with the nutes upped a little, still in even ratio's for now. I'll be sure to update on what happens in the next week or so. Really, I need to start a log for when my new ladies get started here in the next week or two..
