where do i buy the active carbon for one of the things, from what i hear u just fill pantyhose up with carbon and stick it in a pvc pipe with holes in it, and how do i get an inline fan to hook onto one of these, i also need something that'll stay quiet i was looking at some premade ones they seem pretty pricey though http://www.greners.com/fans-ventilation-filters/brand/phresh/phresh-filters.html but if they'll keep a lot quieter it might be worth it want to use one of these quiet plastic fans http://www.greners.com/fans-ventilation-filters/brand/windtunnel/sunleaves-windtunnel.html

I think the activated carbon is sold for fish tank filters. So maybe a pet store?

Yes that is one place to check or online aquarium shops. You can but it in bulk sizes as well on line. Just make sure you clean it first, the dust is messy as hell and probably not good to inhale.

You can also check hardware stores for activated carbon filter replacements for air purifiers and cut em down to size
