i need to get a carbon scrubber and i was wondering if there is a growery favorite i have $200 USD max. would two smaller ones be better then one good one? and how effective are they ? i was lookin at this thing but would lie opinions
the room is hard to explain. im horrible at math it is also a room built for the house not a grow room/tent its 9 feet wide ll feet long and it has a pitched ceiling that go from 8 to 12 feet. also two closest w/o doors. the room is connected to central air and i was hoping to use that as part of my fresh air exchange aslog as the room wont reek, otherwise the vent will be closed.
i have a lil over 790 cubic feet w/o the pitch so i would say about 1050 cubic feet with the pitch and closests

If you are lucky and live in a medical state, craigslist will have much better equipment used for the same or less money.

well this thing is 140$ ready to use shipped to my door i cant build one for much cheaper then that. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120516796991&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WXF%3F&GUID=26efb0fd1240a03661e38103ffe70f86&itemid=120516796991&ff4=263602_263622 or http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=52531
do i really need a 6 incher i have a large room but only two plants?
im gonna go to home depot to see what cost and cfm there inline exhaust fans are but i would really appreciate some input.
for 220 shipped i found this
its 100-200CFM Carbon Cannon 1 6" Carbon Scrubber 250CFM Cannon Fan (we recommend using a dimmer switch for speed control)
so is that worth the extra 80? or is that the point where i could build a better one for cheaper? (remember i am including shipping in these prices) so paying for shipping on a separate scrubber and fan might add an extra $40 or so to my cost.

I think you'd be alright to use that one. I have the HTG 6" and its quite effective with seven plants. It had completely eliminated smell until about the 5th week of flowering when I started to notice a little smell, but not too much.

LOL so does that mean you are selling the used one?
That kinda sucks man, but you should be able to return the shipped one, it will cost you shipping and handling fees, but you will be saving about $150 that you can put towards some nutes or your next lighting upgrade... know what I mean?

Hmmm... or something like that.

Your room might get a little hot with 2x 1000w and a low CFM fan.

According to HTG:
Quote:
Effective treatment requires the exchange of air in the growing area in a period of 5 minutes. Compute your requirements by multiplying the width times the length times the height of your growing area to obtain the total cubic feet. Divide this number by 5 to determine the proper filter size needed.
For example, if your growing area is 8 feet long by 8 feet wide by 8 feet tall, it contains a total of 512 cubic feet. To treat this area in five minutes, you would need to use a fan with a CFM (cubic feet per minute) rating of approximately 102.
Therefore if your room is 1,050 cubic feet then you would at minimum need a fan with an ability to move 210 CFM..
Considering that you have about twice the amount needed I do not think your CFM is too low even with your high wattage.
