I've never done anything with butane so this will be a bit hectic.
The pen has the be one of the ones with a tiny hole in the side, right? Any reason why?

Yah, see I couldn't find a butane can that had the multiple tips on it like you have. My problem came from the fact that I couldn't get a flush fit with the butane and pen cap.
You say to pack it down too? I was afraid to do that. Figured it would make it impossible for the gas to work its magic.

Over here in the states you get a one size fits "most" type of butane. I'm sure you could find a brand of butane with multiple tips somewhere, but I don't think you'd be able to find that particular brand. Who knows though, someone might stock it.
Anyways, tried again today with slightly better results. My material might not be good enough though as I still didn't get a puddle like you got nor was it that nice amber color. Next time I'll buy better butane and will have better quality bud to work with.

hmmm, ok, I thought that was what you pulled after 1-2 pen loads. Cool, I'll have to hit up the smoke shop to pick up a big can of good butane next time. I'll probably try again next weekend.

Don't see this as being true at all. Hash is hash regardless of extraction methods. I'll smoke bubble, I'll smoke dry sieve, I'll smoke solvent, none of them are novelties and I would smoke all forms on the regular if I could. I don't like butane as a solvent because it's a PITA to work with, but this method is perfect if you just want a little bit of hash and don't want to sacrifice much plant material.

LOL I just did a search on amazon for newport butane and the most commonly purchased items along with it were an herb grinder and the iolite vaporizer.
BTW doesn't look like newport is available in the states although I'm sure I could order it from amazon.co.uk.

I'm from 0Z so i might as well give this a go seeing as how i always wanted to make sum hash, especially Butane Honey oil.
can i ask were did you purchase this butane can?
and also wats a good thing to store this oil in once im done, should i put into freezer so its more manageable?

not low on weed just wondering if its worth it moreso. . . coz i could smoke the 3g's all night and get blazed as shit, but .3g of oil doesnt seem like it would get anywhere near the same intoxicating effect.

most my friends tell me it is too stoney for them.
vector butane seems to be the best, double or triple refined.
Not a waste imo, but each their own!
