I hope they do a show close enough for me to attend. They are definitely in my top 5 all time favorite groups and I've never gotten to see them. It's especially shitty when I have to hear all the time from people that have seen them how epic their shows are with the lights/stage setups and so forth.

:crankeytom:

Oh man, their shows are sooo epic!  You gotta go.   just messin.  but srsly.  lots of neat people you will meet at a tool show.

I'm sure I can probably help you out with that, and I don't mind if in the least if I do end up driving.  There is a slight chance that I will fly but most likely i will sell the 3rd ticket for gas monies and take my moms prius to save gas on the road trip up.

We'll keep in touch, but yeah theres definitely public transport options.  This is from the ticketmaster website.

Quote:

Via BART, Muni or Metro.
Exit at the Civic Center Station.
Once in the Station exit to the U.N. Plaza.
Once in the plaza, walk to Hyde Street.
Turn left 1/2 block onto Grove.
Continue two blocks on Grove.
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium is on your left.

Via CalTrain.
From the Caltrain Station (Fourth & Townsend).
Across Fourth Street from the station, catch the #42 bus.
The bus will eventually proceed to and along Van Ness Avenue.
Disembark at Van Ness and Hayes Streets.
Walk West on Hayes (away from Van Ness).
Turn left on Polk St. and right on Grove St.
Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on your right.

Sweet, that looks easy enough.

yeah, they are still adding dates.  They added 3 shows today.  the two denver shows and a show in sacramento on 7/13.  I would bet anyone $50 that they announce an LA show (or two) soon.

I would love to go but tickets are so damn expensive!

"She quickly stood up & looked down, the door on her shoe had gotten larger.
Her shoelaces then quickly took hold of her hands, which caused her to sneeze.
She spit on the puddle of liquid rice to her left, hoping it would release the toads from their chains.
It did nothing.
Desperately she bit into her arm-chair, hoping, praying the bird will hear her call.
"Get the lock!" Sponny yelled.
But was too late.
The door had opened.
She quickly grabbed her shoe & threw it, spilling & exposing the contents inside & relaseing those things."

It's a small price to pay for the experience.  the bang for the buck is huge imo.  Hell, i spent $350 on a ticket to see them in tempe a few years ago.  I was sooo pissed when ticketmaster fucked me over on that.  I was living right next to the venue at the time and it was also where I walked across the stage and got my hooding (or w/e they call it) for graduation.  i had to see them there.  That was one of the smallest venues they have played for the public in the last 12 years.  The capacity of gammage is 3,000.  I wish the band would have got the extra 300 i spent on that ticket rather than some greedy fucking scalper.  That system is rampant with all sorts of bad shit.

This is a version of Third Eye performed on August 3, 1997 in Corpus Christi, TX.  If nothing else just click the play button and listen to the first 20 seconds where mjk instructs the crowd to share their psychedelic drugs with a friend.  it's pretty amusing.  Plus it's a fucking great performance.  over the course of 1996 and early 97 they really perfected this songs live performance.  so in late 97 and throughout the tour of 98 the performances were spectacular to say the least.  Vince de franco played on some of those shows in 98 and this one featured in this post (i think).  If you like the song third eye then i would highly recommend checking out this performance of it.

that's from ticketmaster, not the official site.  I think it's a safe bet since they also had the 2 nights at Red rocks posted before the official site.  That might be all of the dates.   Now the question becomes, should I sell a body part to get tickets and hotel stay?
