 What meter should i buy? to start

Hello everyone,looking for some advice on my first hydro(DWC)grow.My Question is What meter should i start with ppm/ec or ph and any certain brand.Im on a very tight budGit,So im hoping i dont need the all in one $100+ version.I use the drops now to test my ph in my water but not sure how accurate that is.any suggestions fro you pros would be great thanks

First meter I bought was a temp/humi meter for like 15 bucks. I still have not bought a PH tester but my plants seem to be doing very healthy at almost three weeks.

Ya i do have that meter lol...but since ive decieded to go hydro i thought some type of water tester might be needed,maybe not just dont want to find out the hard way.

If your solutions ph is off at all, you will begin to see the ramifications of this very soon.
The first meter you should get for hydro is a PH meter. However, I recommend you just get a litmus tester. They're really cheap and accurate as well.
EC meter should be your next thing to buy.

i plan on doing a small dwc grow to get started.I have the ph test drops for fish tanks do you think i should go with that and a litmus or ec meter? Thanks btw for your help.

ok i have the litmus ph test kit! I wasnt sure but i do already have the strips and the drops.So its ppm meter i need or ec? And does anyone know if the $20 meters off ebay from hong kong are worth while?

This is the best PPM/EC meter out hands down http://www.getbluelab.com/shop/Bluelab+Commercial+Truncheon%AE+Meter.html
The drops are fine for ph. I myself use those to this day. (not that it means shit but I've been growing under the lights since 1985 and have tried most ph meters out.)

thanks Magash thats the one i was looking at for $100.Just wanted to make sure i needed it and if it was the right one for me (a Noobie) and by the way you havea bad ass avtar shes hypnotizing..lol
