hay there im just wondering what would the best ppm be for plants ? i just got me a EC meter and don't know how to use it lol peace and thanks in advance for any help
I just kinda monitor how the plants take up nutrients w/ a grow log. If you have your nutrients at 800ppm and measure the next day and its down to 720ppm you know the plants are using up more nutrients than water. If the EC level goes up the plants are taking up more water than nutes.
You should look at the feeding directions for your nutes as a guideline but they are usually higher than needed because plants like tomatoes use up more nutrients than MJ.
dont use 'ppm' readings, just stick with the ec, and the normal range for a fertilizer is somewhere between .7-1.5. Supplements can raise your ec reading, but not contribute to feeding (read: fertilizing) your plants, so just because liquid karma registers .35 @ 10ml/Gal, dont consider that 'feeding' your plants.
