DIY Aero Construction started

So I though I'd share my project with everybody since I'm sure it will help somebone. The plan is to build an aeroponic system designed for a 1000 watt hps lamp.
I started off by cutting two 4ft sections of 2 by 4 and clamping them together side by side. Then I drilled pilot holes. I then drilled out four 4 1/2in holes and three 15/16in holes.
Then I cut eight 2ft sections of 2 by 4 and made these little sawhorse legs.
Then I cut my two 10ft 4in pvc pipes in half to make four 5ft sections and put them on the stands.
As you can see the other notches are going to be for the feeder pipes.
Well this is the first installment and I will update as I progress. I have most of the supplies I need but it will take me some time due to a very busy schedule.
peace,
Lothario

I'm going to use the Aeroponic Microjet 360° Sprayers
The green one. The blue one is the 180° Sprayer

Ok a few updates!
First of all I've decided to just have two 3/4" main feeder pipes instead of three. Each pipe will feed two 4 inchers.
So for each main feeder pipe assembly I cut 3/4" pvc into 4 pieces 10 7/8" and 5 pieces 1 7/8". I used ten 3/4" tee's and ten bushings 3/4" slip by 1/2" FPT (Female Pipe Thread).
I arranged them to make 5 smaller assemblies like this per feeder pipe.
Here it is a bit further back.
They will go in between the main pipes like this
I have these brass tee's that will thread on either side of those assemblies. They're called Male Branch Tees' that are 1/8" NPT that will get me down to the 1/4 in tubing that I will use for the spray jets.
I can't thread them in yet because I'm waiting for the 1/8" FPT by 1/2" MPT brass bushings that will go between the pvc bushing and the male branch tee's.
So soon I will take care of the plumbing from the pump to the feeder pipes, finish off the spray jet plumbing, and work on drainage.
I also will be using 2" net pots and 2" neoprene collars with no medium.
Cool well I hope you're enjoying so far. We've got a loooong way to go. Well not too long I hope. I do have some obstacles to overcome as far as the room itself, electrical and whatnot but that should get taken care of as well.
Later, Loth

Yeah sorry guys I've been suuuuuper busy. However I have made some progress.
Here's what it's looking like these days.
A top view of the connections
Part of the drainage
And the backside
I don't have time to go into details but I promise I will come back and give a detailed explanation. There's some cool stuff built into this. If you have any questions just ask and I'll answer them.
Later,
Loth

there s a june article in HT, giving complete part lists for this nft gulley system, I built one just like yours with the pvc pipes, big pain in the ass when it comes to drilling your plant sites. the name of the article is how to grow a lb every three weeks.instead of using round pcv, the person uses 4x4 pvc decking, you would use to cover a wooden 4x4 post, a hollowed out sq, much easier to work with. there is another thread on this site, with a detailed set of instructions, and even has a pdf file with a diagram, ill find out where i found itand link it over somehow

P.S. if you don't own a copy of Marijuana Horticulture, the indoor/outdoor medical growers bible, you need to get a copy!

Why do you say posts are easier to work with? Pvc is cheaper, easier to find and if you get a good hole saw you should be ok to drill so long as your careful. Also this is aero not nft. It does have an nft quality to it but its secondary to the spray jets. This will grow faster than nft.

He is talking about PVC posts. And you are actually building an Aero/NFT system, whether you know it or not.
The square PVC posts have all the benefits of a PVC tube, but with added rigidity of a square and the benefit of being able to have a flush fit on the post and your net pots.
Check out my Aerocloner and soon to be aero-veg and aero-flower system threads.
Also be aware you will have roots coming out the drain holes. They get LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.

thanks for the follow up on this thread shroomer, nft/areo is correct! no matter nft and areo, its fun to build and maintenance, and yes i was referring to the sq pvc post, which is about the same price in my area.
