HID heat...

I think i finally found a solid way to get decent airflow to try and do a 400w HPS! and also a 175w MH! (veg).
My only thought is... i live in this room. Im going to be having a 400w hps; a 175w MH, and two additional 70-150w mh's in this room. So 4 lights making potentially around 600-700w of heat... Am i going to bake in this room? My rooms only like 20x20; and i do leave my door open so it should have decent ventilation and not sweat me out... right?

With that amount of light in that space it shouldn't be hard to keep the temps close to typical room temp with ample ventilation. Remember the plants like the temps about the same as we do, so that is what you should be shooting for. Of course, there will be some amount of radiating heat coming off the lamps, but you shouldn't be able to feel it unless up close to them.

Deff... its going to be a dual ventilation system. One for cooltubes on the lights; one for scrubbing. Plus then the two 70w's or 150w's would be on their own vent system as well (aquarium).
And on a second thought i decided to measure my room... only like 12x12... HA! But still, shouldnt be too bad... i just dont want it rediculously abnormal. I dont think i could say two 150w MH's would be doing all that heat

Yea, and in the cold months you don't have to run the heat in that room.

This is your second post with the same title. Just thought I'd point that out. BTW, what happened to the 1000W you were going to set up? It was free after all, right?

are you venting your hot air into the room or are you exhausting to somewhere else like an attic? Let me tell you even a 20'x 20' room will heat up damn quick if you have no way to let the hot air out.

I had a 400w in a 15x15 room and it would get up to 100F if not constantly vented out.

Yah, you really have to think about it. You're running a lamp in which the bulb temps un-cooled can reach 100+ degrees F in a matter of minutes. Now if you vent the lamps you're pushing that hot air out into the outside room. If it has no where to go, or you don't have an AC unit in the room, it just builds and builds. So you either need a way to move the hot air out or cool the room with a portable/window AC unit.

This is why im asking the question. The room it will be in will be vented into the rest of the house.
And yea green thumb; this is my second post same title; diff reference. Yes; that 1000w was free; along with the grow tent, fan, bulb, ect... but my friend had to give it back for whatever reason; and he did. That light wasnt mine.
Im trying to design my room as i will be building it soon... but having trouble liking anything i design. This idea i now have seem quite logical and practical. But we'll see when the time comes. Until then; my growing exp is limited; and like i said; i had a roommate and it all went to shit. So im trying to get it going; but dont want to over do it and get myself in deeper then expected and waste tons of money...
