Another thread about HID heat issues

Well, I've got a 24"x24" darkroom inside a 48"x48" closet and during the summer with a 250W hps in there it's usually around 96 degrees and very rarely below 88 or so. My plants were showing some nasty heat stress so I've turned off the HPS and have added about 150W of CFL's (REAL watts, not equivalent watts), but I still want the yields of an HID lamp.
Any suggestions? I'm going to keep buying some CFL's for the area to try and get good intensity of light in there, but what's my best bet for maximum yields with CFL's? Should I SCROG it and try to keep the lights close, or should I let them get tall christmas tree style and trim lower branches to concentrate the growth into a single bud?

doing a cfl my self, got lights a dif levels. i have 4 general and 4 sun clfs (26 watt) bout inch from the top, and 6 general purpose( 26 watt) plus one 60 watt MH hanging down and around under the canopy, getting good bud production all over. I like cfls cause i can use them close and well, have hanging at dif levels and all i get is a lil burn at leaves tips-i'd say put em everywhere!lol. As far as equal to HPS yield- not sure. it'd be interesting to to do a HPS and cfl simontaniously to get an idea of what ya need but the buds now arnt quite fat like they would be at this time if they were under my hps- but im running alot less then 600 watts.

Yeah HB I would do a scrog... You're going to get better light coverage to all of the cola's if you use this method... If you read the sticky that FurrowedBrow posted it explains all of the training methods but has a great section on ScrOG. I'm thinking about utilizing this tek as well since I only have 225 Watts on my 2 little ladies at the moment.
Heat really is an issue for most people but I just run a fan directly on the ballast on full speed 24 hrs a day... But i'm also using an open air area kinda so maybe that's why I don't have an issue with heat.

i got 2 cheap $6 fans that pull cool air under and pushes it out the top. my temps are constant around 82F.

yeah my problem is that this tent is in a closed closet, so there's no exhaust venting outside, and no air coming in from outside, so it's just heating and recirculating the same air over and over again
I think I'm going to have to start brainstorming a way to vent the hot air to the outside, because I'm in kind of a dead-lock right now. I don't want the nugs that commonly come from CFL's, but if I try to use my HPS it'll be so hot in there that my buds will be fluffy and lame anyway.

you need to find a way to get some air movement. Even a small intake on or under the door of the closet, and exhaust into the attic or something. Move your tent to a cooler room, or maybe air cool your light if possible. Youd be suprised how easy it is to add an air duct in a wall with a small fan hooked to it for intake. I found this was effective for me. Enough so that I have no exhaust fan. And that way, it makes it easy to control the room temp, by just controlling the temp of the room where the air is drawn from.

A Hydrofarm cfl reflector and 200W bulb would work great. It can also fit a 125W.

one 200W bulb is lame IMO http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=120&xSec=3&gclid=CMmu7Nmsp5sCFRFWagodjjxuCw
And if you replace those bulbs (assuming they're all mogul bases) you get 600W of CFL's under one hood
