Working with 1000W HID...

What are some things to expect when working with a 1000W HID HPS? I've worked with a 400w, but have the chance for a free 1000w, so figure, why the hell not! On the 400, a 265cfm fan did the trick for cooling... how big of one will i be looking at for the bigger light?
Also, what space is optimal for working with? It has a grow closet with it... but i dont like it, looks small. Basically all i need is a Air cooled hood, build the room, Fans, and plant my seeds and im in business... well, metaphorically speaking of course.

Look at the Hydrofarm Radiant and Daystar reflectors. They have both models available with flanges. A light mover would help a lot with hot spots and you could keep the light closer to the plants.
What are the dimensions of your space?

hope u got a big ass closet, u could heat up a normal size room with a 1000 watt bulb. hell i got to have 2-ton ac to keep my room cool but i have muti 1000 lamps though. well make sure u wipe the buld after u put her in or do it with a cloth, u dont want oily finger prints on a bulb that gets that hot.

right now i dont have a space planned out. It will probably end up in a garage if i use it. With the heat and everything, may need to try and trade it out for a smaller light tho now that you say that...

u can pull it off, u just need to be moving air in and out pretty quickly to keep the temp down. When ur using big time lights ya gotta have air flow, well ya need air flow anyways but more so then not when ya working with 1000 watt or more. fuk i fuked up
