All the cannabis cup is is an advertisement for High Times and the seed companies. If you look at how the judges smoke and vote it is obvious that they would not be able to tell the highs given by the different strains apart. Green House wins every year, and from what I have heard on similar forums is that GH is nothing special.

Well you'd prob enjoy it here. Most yanks do. I think it's pretty safe to say though that most of the people my own age I know are fairly bored of the place. An annual holiday out is needed, at the least.

Yeah, what nasty bastard thought of dusting weed with glass? I mean surely there's something else that'd give a similar effect without fucking people's lungs up. I have to say, the quality of weed and hash to buy here's pretty low. Unless you know someone who knows how to grow.

Going to the cup is cool but it has nothing to do with the cup itself. Just fun to gather samples and talk to the people in the industry. That and smoking a half a million strains.
Now there have been a few of the Cali strains entered in the cup by a company called Apothecary Seeds. Every one of their strains have placed in the cup. I tend to think the winners of the cup aren't the ones who pay the most for advertising in high times (which is what I use to think) but the judges are just normal people who win a contest in high times and get to judge.
Here is what the key to winning is in my opinion or what is going on. The winners are usually the guys that put on the biggest show. Huge displays giving out lots of samples and pretty much kind of making the judges feel like they owe them. (I hope I got that point across).
