Myc?

i did an experiment/messing around a while back with some old prints that were laying around. I wiped the prints onto a couple of freshly used coffee filter packs, put them into this tupperware bowl and sealed it up almost, left a small portion unzipped. Anyways, i check them the other day and i see this white jizzy looking stuff in the form of what looks like roots spreading out on the container and on the filters. So my question is, does this look like myc? I have never grown shrooms and never really intended too but this happened and since it did i am looking for pointers on what i could do if anything to help it along?

looks like it; but at the same time; coffee is real prone to trich. Give it a few more days and see if she dont go green. If not; you may have something... if it does; toss it all

If that's mycelium, I have NEVER seen it grow like that before. Frankly, I just want to know what it is... For right now, I'm voting "no"

Its mycelium alright. But probably not the type you were looking for. Seeing as how you had the jar lids open it is probably something else that got in there. Let it grow for a while though I want to see what it is .

It is in a tupperware bowl, inside a ziplock bag. It was zipped all but maybe a half inch and even that it's not letting much in or out! it has been up in a cupboard for almost a month and was actually going to go grab it to throw it out! but then i see this goo and it's white and kinda looks like the myc that is collected on the mushies base of the stem. Also i see this white jizz out in the area i pick from, if that tells u anything?

If it is mushroom mycelium then its extremely rizomorphic. Only time will tell man.

I know this post is a bit old, but I haven't been in this forum in a while, and just wanted to emphasize that that really does not look like mycelium, rhizomorphic or not. Basidiomycete mycelium usually looks pretty fuzzy, not creamy. I agree with Yrat, it looks like the plasmodium of a slime mold, which is actually not a fungus, but very cool nonetheless. SM's description of it looking like jizz seems to corroborate this. It could possibly be some sort of pseudohyphal yeast or something, I don't know enough about that sort of thing...could be a bacterial colony. Looks plasmodial, though. Very neat.

way to waste a spore print.
-------------------- All of the statements and posts I make or have made are fake. I just found all the pictures and copied and pasted them here. I am in no way associated with any of the materials discussed here. I'm just bored, and lame.

hahaha... yea; cause there's not so many prints out there that you cant just pick up another freebie from shroomery or just print another when you grow...

SpaceMonkey- you grow cubies outdoors? I want to do that in Louisiana in the future. Do you try to increase the humidity with a tent or anything or is it humid enough in Hawaii?

These are not cubies, they are copelandia cyanscens or panaolus cyanscens.
