That does look like a pretty simple way to do it. My only suggestion would be, after you are done with this... take the bud thats in the cheesecloth and reboil it in some water in a small pan for about an hour, and strain through cheesecloth again (but into a diff container). This will get you a little more butter, as you're sure to be losing some if you just toss the bud away. This strained water/butter will be very watery, but let it sit until it reaches room temp, then fridge it for a day. THEN you will see a layer of hard butter at the top and gross water at the bottom. Take the hard butter and save it!
I'm thrifty and don't like to lose any more thc than absolutely necessary, gotta squeeze every bit out.
Good luck, I hope you make some yummy stuff. Um.. also .. I'd recommend that you use at least a 1/4 oz for a half lb of butter.
