clones of the auto-flower.
    #287393 - 09/27/09 05:25 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

i find this to be a huge question that i cant find answers to.
since your not supposed to take clones from flowering mothers, how do we take clones from strains that begin flower as soon as they sprout?

im interested in lowryder 2. i was thinking of having my 400w-hps room on 24 hours with constant growing self flowering plants on 24hrs light, and a second room for 24hrs fluorescent for the clones, after 2 weeks the clones can go into the hps room to really grow.

is this possible with auto flower strains like lowryder2? if so it could be a very exponential, time efficient way of growing.

down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
the haunted frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
far from the twisted reach, of crazy sorrow.
yes the dance, beneath the diamond sky, with one hand waving free,
silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
with all memory and fate, driven deep beneath the waves,
let me forget about today, until tomorrow."~bob dylan

Yes. And it is a misconception that AF strains flower since germination. That is absurd. They still go through the vegetative stage just like any other cannabis plant. They just have a hereditary trigger that allows them to flower without the Sun telling them to do so.

Also, cloning AF strains is hard. It is possible, but sometimes the clones are puny, unhealthy, or worthless.

Honestly, just reveg your plants. If you do successfully clone them, your clones will stay clone-sized.

Typically autoflowering plants do not branch out making cloning a bit hard to do! The only branching they have is buds.

Here was 1 a friend and i grew this past spring

As you can see, it is 1 main stalk, fan leaves and bud. Sprout to finish was almost 4 months!

Beautiful plant, BTW.

What strain is that?

I am not positive the true strain but it tasted faintly blueberry.

I've grown them twice now. Low Life Seeds is were the seed came from. 60 days from start to finish. About 2ft tall.

I see great possibilities for a hidden outside grow.

I've had many out door plants get riped off. There size made them easy to see.

Sounds like BlueStreak (MasterLow X Blueberry)

Quote:

Blue Streak is Blueberry Female (DJ Short) crossed to MasterLow Male, and then resulting females crossed again to MasterLow Male. The aim is to create an autoflowering strain with Blueberry characteristics in appearance and taste. 100% auto-flowering.

I'm not too sure about that either. I got the seeds from a grower down south in Puna where this guy has a bunch of genetics going on.

So can you clone autoflowering?  Just does not work well or has no one figured out a way to make it worth bothering with?

I am growing Auto AK47 X Auto Blueberry now.  I would experiment with clones in a few weeks to see.

Also, with these autoflowering plants, can you not still LST or ScrOG them though?  In particular, I wanted to experiment with LST on them.

Yes, you can clone them. They will be small and puny and will AF when the 'mother' AF's. Thus, you will have a shitty yield.

And as far as LST and ScrOG goes, they won't really do shit for your AF plant; it really depends on the strain. To maximize your yields, you should go SOG.
