Coconut Milk
    #258377 - 08/01/09 07:13 AM (15 years, 3 months ago)

So I have heard that coconut milk can encourage plant growth, largely due to the high levels of a cytokinin called zeatin. There was a study done in the 1940's, where 10% coconut milk was added to the substrate that wheat was grown in...and there was a significant improvement in yield. I was thinking about trying this in my next grow on one plant to see what the difference is...and report back. Any suggestions or comment on this? I have also heard that application of coconut milk to the seeds help increase germination rate.

This would be a good experiment... Growing two of the same
strain plants for a direct comparison.  Zeatin in raw form
is sold by chemical plant supply stores, but it's kind of
a lot more than most would probably want to spend if good
results can be achieved just with plain old coconut.

Think $1 a mg.

I would be pretty interested in the outcome of such an experiment.
