So theres this closet. Theres 2 decent sized MJ plants, both NYCD, and starting flowering. As of now we have 2-48'' Daylight spectrum florescent tubes right next to the plant, and another 3 flood CFL lights at about 90w a piece at different heights around the plants, and then two 90w tube CFL's plugged in sitting on the floor that lights the underneath.
Its been about a week and a few days on 12/12 off from 24/0 and still no signs of sex. I'm not worried, they were fem. seeds ;-).
My question is will the CFL's be sufficient to flower? I really don't have the money now for a HPS since the ballasts are BS expensive. Any other cheaper alternatives?
Thanks. I've grown plants on CFL's before but they were not this big. All of the CFL's are 6500K daylight range, I know HPS is amber/orange, should I atleast switch a few to that warmer range?
That should be fine. I grow under about 150 watts of CFLs total. I have two "decent size" plants as well, they are about 2.5 feet tall and flowering nicely. Use your lights efficiently and rotate your plants often. All my lights are also 6500K. I figure I could get the warm ones if i wanted better buds, but no matter what floros you flower under the buds are not going to be dense.
