GE reveal bulbs?
    #241728 - 06/21/09 05:39 PM (15 years, 5 months ago)

Quick question.  For all of my shroom growing ive done over the years i have always used GE reveal bulbs for growing them, due to their full spectrum of light.  Is there any chance i could use those same bulbs for growing my cannabis plants?  as of now i have 1 seedling.  i have a light board that i can screw 5 bulbs into and have them beaming down on the plant while it is growing.

While the spectrum of light produced by those incandescent bulbs may be appropriate for indoor horticultural cultivation, incandescent lights in general are not the right choice due to their extremely poor efficiency.  Most of the electricity that is fed into an incandescent bulb is turned into heat, not light.  Therefore, in order to get an adequate amount of light from incandescents for impressive budding, the heat levels would become prohibitive.

In short, not recommended.  At best, they should work for maintaining clones.
But for vegetative and flowering growth, pick up some flouro's or better yet an HID / HPS.
