Can i just use an adapter. Or is this dangerous,or limit power?????? Im doing it now, seems fine just curious/and a noid.

Your ballast has a grounded power cord, the timer is ungrounded. Doing shit like this is how people set their grows on fire. DONT FUCK WITH ELECTRICITY.

Timers at Wal-Fart Stupidcenters are only $8 for a Brinks 3-prong grounded timer. That's what I'm using for a 400W HPS.

You need to be looking for "heavy duty" timers. Lowes has them. I couldn't find one at Walmart a couple of years ago.

Home depot has them as well. I also have a 400w hps/mh light. I use the following without problems.

I got a Heavy Duty Outdoor timer. Works good has two timer, 2outlets. Home Depot $15.99
