yeah, that is usually how it smells at first but then it gets its odor back. If you dry it too fast though it can come out smelling like grass clippings.

Just watch the moisture and you'll be fine.

After a week it should already be noticeably different smelling better/smoke as well.  Chlorophyll dissipates while curing, which will rid it of the planty smell and taste.

Fill the jar completely.

I'm assuming you are past drying and now curing. Just open the jar twice a day, and fan the top with your hand for a couple of minutes. Thats it basically. You will probably want to rotate the buds around every 3 days or so. It just insures even curing.

More info.  Strain, how long its been flowering, have you flushed it yet (if it isn't an organic grow).  All these things will make it easier to answer your question.
From the picture I'd say no, but like I said...more info.

It's ready to be picked when one of the following occur:
A) 2/3 of the pistils have turned orange
B) When the trichomes turn from clear to cloudy
C) Or give or take 65 days.

D)If you have some amber trichomes
E)Or 70-100 days if it is Sativa leaning
and he asked about curing information which will be useless if he doesn't flush any inorganic nutes before he pulls it cuz it'll taste nasty and give him a headache no matter what.
Hence...we need more info

Yes, you D is pretty much what I referred to as 'cloudy' in my post.  Also, only a 100% Sativa might ever need 90-100 days of flowering time, and even then it would be awfully rare.  It is also highly probable that he is not growing a purebreed Sativa.

As far as curing goes, even if you didn't thoroughly flush your plant, curing will be no different than if you had flushed all the way.  Curing works on chlorophyll and has nothing to do with fertilizers  It is still worthwhile, and will increase the quality (not potency) of your bud in terms of taste, smell, and smokeability.

So no, we don't need any more information, even if he didn't flush his plants all the way, it wouldn't change the curing process.

You're right, I'm not trying to be argumentative and I don't know why I got offended and snappy there.  Just a couple points:
Cloudy and amber are two different things so I wanted to clarify that since the OP seems like he's new to this
I agree with you that flushing has nothing to do with the curing process; I should have put the flushing info out there as additional info since a good cure (which we know decarboxylates the THC and therefore is a larger part of the potency issue) seems pointless to me without making sure the OP flushes his grow to maximize the flavor and healthfulness of his finished product.
Sorry again about the sharpness above. Just trying to help, not spread animosity.

When are you supposed to harvest? When Trics are cloudy or amber. I have a harvest coming up soon, and want to know for sure. Also, Is it better to seperate the branches from the main stem when drying, or leave it whole when possible?

What is that strain? How many days has it been flowering (when did you switch to 12/12)?
If its the white widow you mention in your sig I'd say its a ways off...I just don't see very much resin production yet

It's all good, and you're right about amber and cloudy not being the same:mushroom2:

Generally when the trichomes turn amber, the THC production has peaked and may even start to slowly degrade after then.  However when the trichome is amber, there is usually a higher cannabinoid content vs. THC content.  Where as if you harvested earlier when trichomes were clear or cloudy there is a higher THC to cannabinoid content.  A high THC content attributes more to the mental high and psychological effects I where as a high cannabinoid content results in a more stoney/relaxed/pain reducing high.  The choice is really up to you.
