Is There Any Saving My Plants?
    #219291 - 04/24/09 10:37 AM (15 years, 8 months ago)

When I started out growing...my original plan was to germinate some seeds and move them outdoors.

Long story short, a month later, I have a 150w HPS light and 2 females for sure.

Stupidly, I was running the lights 12/12 for the plants entire life time. One of my plants is pretty large and showing those white hairs at every node.

If I switch them to 18/6 NOW, is it just going to fuck them all up? I changed my mind and want to do it right.

So, should I do it now, or just hold off for my next grow?

Why should that mean it isn't real?

i'd say keep it at 12/12.

start more seeds and do it again this year.

it's not too late down here in texas but i dunno where you are.

i would just keep them under the hps for another 4 weeks and have a little bit of smoke and you could get a few little cfl's to help you out with some extra lumens because in the time it is going to take it to revert to veg you could have grown a plant that will likely be twice as big.start over with new outdoor plants. either get some clones to stick outside or germinate a few seeds. good luck:ganja:

How many plants, generally, is my 150w HPS good for?

I also have ~8 CFL's as well, but I'd really prefer to just use the HPS, as my closet is wired to accommodate that.

i cant tell you in plants because i dont know how big your plants are but my guess would be what ever you can fit in a space that is no more than about 1.5ft by 1.5ft. im not 100% sure but i know that a 400 watt light can cover a 3 x 3 area so you get the picture. i would use cfl's down towards the bottom if i were you but its your choice your closet doesnt need to be wired for anything more than 1 oulet they have y connectors for sockets that makes 1 socket into 2 then put another connector in both of those this makes it possible to run 4 bulbs equaly spaced in a square shape. this can hang down between you plants very close to you plants i even let it touch my fan leaves during week 5&6 because the benefit of having the light being that close outweighs the stress the plant recieves from a little burn. hope i helped a little.

wow epic post with the y connectors going inside the y connectors.
just bashed some ideas in my head.

to the op.i would keep them on 12/12 take clones(more then needed)
keep the strong and healthy.let them get a lil hefty and transplant them outside.

I would not run Y connectors off Y connectors.

I would also just keep them on 12/12.

There nothing epic about my post so why dont you shut the hell up "mr.responsible thizz head" why dont you get back to frying your brain instead of running your mouth about something you have no clue about. Running y connectors off of y connectors is fine use your fucking head what would be wrong with it? you can put a 150 watt light in a socket it doesn't matter if that wattage is being pulled from 1 bulb or 4 23 watt cfl's. this idea wasn't mine it come from seamore buds book " grow 8 ounces of bud for under 100$" check it out heres the link.

keep these at 12/12 till harvest....or if your plants are a good size take clones and set them under 18/6 or 24 hour photoperiod i recommend 24 for clones that are already in flowering....how tall are they......and anyway i dont understand the problem, you said the one is pretty big .......so if its like about a foot and just starting to flower now.....thats perfect for indoors because it will grow bigger but not too huge.....or are you posting because you wanted them outside but accidentaly had them on 12/12.....if they are just beginning the show pistils and you want them outside then id suggest stickin them in the ground now......post more details....possibly pics too if you can....

Put them outside and they will revert. May take a little time but they will go back to veg growth and start budding at the end of July to the middle of Augest and finish up late Sept to mid Oct.

Indoors you want 50 watts per sq foot.

3x3 = 600 watts

4x4 = 1000 watts

and so on.
