personally I wouldn't even bother with these plants.... But if you were to.. First off new pots.. they are not big enough. The roots want space. Second you need a way to check the ph. I would bet the ph is off. Also This plant needs to be fed....
Not to be a Jerk... but did you do any research before deciding to grow? It's not as simple as putting a seed and dirt.. giving it sun and water. There really is much more to it.

well you see i didnt plan to start growing. i knew at one point i would want to, just probably not just yet. however, since this plant was given to me, i have been attempting to figure out the correct way to do it. i mean i guess, i would like to try and save this plant. at this point any type of yield is good, and its all a learning experience right now. i have collect some seeds thru the years, that i would be able to start up if this plant is just a total loss.
approximately how much would it cost to rescue this plant?

you need some nutes... a ph tester kit with some ph down. Some good soil for the plant and a new container. It wouldn't be all that much and it would be things you would need to grow in the future anyway if the plant doesn't make it. The main thing I would say though is the container. It def needs more room than what its in.

okay container will be bought tomorrow. how big should i get? keep in mind it is being closet grown in a 2x2x8. its a single plant, (as of right now).
light wise..am i okay?? i have 1 40 watt CFL daylight, and 1 60 watt soft white, on at 18 hr cycles. idk. is that too much? too little?
also when i transplant it, is there a high risk that the shock would kill it? what nutrients/soil would you recommend?

In my opinion you were ripped off. That aside, you are murdering this plant with your water. You need some pH drops. Find good ones at a hydro store or acceptable ones at a big box store. There is nothing anyone can do for your plant unless you know your water's pH.
MORE LIGHT. I'm sure those 40 and 60 watt #'s are the equivalent wattage and not the actual. You want the 2 BIGGEST CFL's you can find. Home Depot sales 68 watt, and you can get bigger online.
Good luck

You can deffinetly save that plant brah...i had a plant hermie on me, so I cut it under the lowest leafs, but kinda left it by the growroom cause of lazyness. It was just stem sticking out of the soil. In 3 days I see new growth..as for costs
Wow I just did this in another post lol
2 42watt cfl - 20$ Soil (anything without time release) - 15ish Perlite - 5$ PH drops - 10$ 5 gal bucket - 5$ All purpose nutes - 8$ for mirricle grow, 10$ for hoffman's
So around 50$ minimum. But before investing any money into it, you should think if you have the time to invest into growing.

42 watt is that actual wattage? is this really time consuming? probably about an hour or two a day?
i could purchase all that at home depot though right?

42 watt is the actual wattage yes. The bulb wil likely say either 150 or 200 watts though.
Time consuming? There are some days I spend as little as 1-3 minutes per plant (so like 10-20 minutes) there are other days where I spend over an hour with each plant. It really just depends on what you have to do that day.
The lights, bucket, miracle grow, and soil are sold at my homedepot. No PH drops or perlite at my local homedepot.

See what you think on my first try.

Ace hardware has all of those things at those prices. If not HD, go to a gardening storr for ph drops .
Thats the wattage. 200watt equivalent basically.
After you set up (about 3 hours work, depending on how high u are), its just watering when the soil is dry and measuring ph.. Honestly, an hour per week is sufficient IF you already spent Countless hours READING the FAQ! Basically, it's the research thats time consuming, not growing. I (or better off, some pro) will walk you threw setting up a growspace, but if something goes wrong, and you didnt do enouph reading to know something's wrong...plants end up looking like that

Sorry I get bored. I have my moments of seclusion and I pretty much sit here and smoke while playing mine craft or reading various articles. The whole time I have a couple forums up which I watch as well as a chat room.

For soil, I would start at smaller local nurseries or garden stores. I would avoid Miracle grow unless it is all you can get in your area (that includes Miracle Grow Perlite, it is laced with nutes). Most Hydro stores carry several brands of soil. if you are lucky enough to have one of those near by you can get some great soil, but some of it is pricey.
pH drops, the same as above. If not, you can get them with a limited pH range in the swimming pool section at most Big Box stores. I would not waste you money on an electric pH tester unless you are ready to put some good money down.
Add more drain holes to your pots. Get a drill out and give them a lot more holes. You want good drainage.
I use Daylight to veg and Soft White to Flower.

If you can invest 20$ more when you put it into flowering, get 2 daylight (6500K) 42watt cfl at home depot, ace hardware Ph drops are a kind of ph meter. They can be found at a hydroponics store or online.
Get cheap all-purpose soil (no time release) and perlite at hd or ace or walmart. If you go to the hydro store get earthworm castings too.
PH is cruicial though, so if you dont have acess to a hydro store, get a pool ph test kit at walmart, hd, ace, etc.

That's not how it works. Your plant is in its vegitative state untill you force flowering indoors by flipping your light cycle to 12/12 or outdoors when the days get shorter. So you tell me, how many hours a day are your lights on?

oh i see. i keep the lights on for 18 hours a day. so should I be using soft white lights right now?
and part of the problem was that the plant i'm not sure if it was on a regular light cycle but it went through a period of a day or so when it didnt receive any light at all. and right now i have a soft white and day light on it. should i remove the softwhite?
