HORTILUX - BLUE

As my first post here on the Growery, I would love to start one dedicated to people's research, experiences and results with the Hortilux-Blue metal halide lamps. I just found out too that there is a newer Hortilux-Super Blue which is a hybrid Super HPS and Hortilux-Blue MH bulb, which has a good amount in the blue spectrum but, according to the diagrams I saw, not as much as the regular MH Blue bulb. Would both of these work well together? Anyone use it yet? I'm assuming the blues are best for the flowering stage, but are they also useful for the veg stage? Still learning about lighting in general. Thx. http://www.thegrowlight.com/images/D/hortbluegraphic.jpg

The MH are great for vegging have been using them for some time now. The HPS with added blue seem to work well also but any more then the regular HPS bulbs for growing so far results are about the same.

ive seen them,im curious about the hortilux blue, but i cant find em for sale anywhere. i woudl imagine they are retardedly expensive, and when it comes down to bang for your buck, prolly not worth it. especially for veg, since any high intensity light will work, and a run of teh mill MH will still produce exceptional results.
anyone know how much one of those bulbs will run you?

A quick search shows $169.95 for the 1000w bulb, on both eBay and Amazon. This bulb has 80,000 lumens, but the lifespan on Amazon is wrong, saying 15,000 hours. Everywhere else, including the Hortilux website, says the 1000w bulb lasts 6,000 hours (quite a bit less than other bulbs,) and the 400w lasts 12,000 hours. I found a 400w on ebay for $89.95 plus 8.95 shipping.

Strain is Sweet 16. I bred the strain myself just for growing in SOG grows. Took years to get a plant that doesn't branch out.
That pic was 2-1000 watters over a 4x8 foot space.

Actually there is no veg stage at all with Sweet 16. Those were put into flowering as soon as they rooted.
Sweet 16 Is a cross of Sweet Tooth #3 and Mikado. That was crossed with a Grandaddy Purple then crossed back into the original Sweet Tooth x Mikado.
New projects are Purple Bomb which will be Purple Erkle x Grandaddy Purple crossed with a Grape Ape x The Purps this will shut up the purple bud lovers.
Purple Trainwreck, Bionic Blueberry, and Power Diesel will also be done soon.
