hey everyone i am in my fourth week of budding friday will be 5 weeks. i have been noticing that for the past 3 days my hairs have started to dry up and turn red. i am following the fox farms feeding chart, and i gave my second dose of beastie blooms on friday. is this a common sign of nutrient toxicity? i was thinking i should use florakleen tonight to flush the nutrients out but im not realy sure any help would be appriciated.

no that's normal. It's just what pot plants do. first you get an explosion of calyxes and hairs which over the weeks will plump up into sexy little nugglets. Then as the plant begins to approach it's peak maturity the white hairs will begin to change colors. The color depends on the strain, some go to off-white or purple/lavender or pinkish or dark red or orange or tan or brown... As the hairs die and change the resiny goodness begins to peak and her nuggs will really start to frost up a bit (don't touch the nuggs!) harvest can start when 80% of the hairs on your plant have changed-- or you can wait longer if you desire but excessive delay in harvest will only degrade the quality of the trichomes and if you are like me and enjoy smoking what you've grown, then excessive delay of harvest is not likely because you'll want to be smoking it already.

not if you have some fast flowering plants-- some strains only take 5 weeks to finish in which case week 4 would be gettin up there
