Coco Coir as sub [OUTDOOR]

I have a question regarding using coconut coir as part of a soil mix for an outdoor MJ garden.
(I reside in the PNW area)
I have used leftover coir in potting mixtures for my household plants before. However, it always seems to develop gray mold on the surface of the plant pot.
Question: What natural product can I add to the coir to prevent molds?

They sell fungicides at your local hydro store...A diluted mixture of peroxide will help as well though not as good.

It should tell you the instructions on the thing when you buy it...But if not you soak the soil mix in the fungicide solution for a few hours...It will tell you I would imagine...Most do.

Keep in mind certain fungi are actually beneficial to the plant, many growers mix in mycorhizzae to help get more oxygen to roots, produce a healthier vigorous root system, etc. So, if you soak your substrate in a fungicide solution you could be preventing these beneficial fungi/bacteria from aiding your grow.
Also, FYI, mother nature is the best mold fighter out there. If you're growing outside i wouldn't be worrying so much about cobweb molds.

This is true...And yes good point coda...Growing outdoors you will probably not encounter these problems, these problems are usually seen indoors.
