Putting sprouts under an HPS

I have three little sprouts under a 40W CFL that I know isn't even close to enough light so I was wondering if I could put them under my 1000W HPS grow light? I know people use these for flowering but I don't see why I couldn't put my babies under it as long as there at a safe distance.

If you're asking if you can veg under an HPS lamp...Yes, but it's usually done with a different bulb.

go for it. It will still keep them in veggie mode w/ 24 hours, or are you thinking 18/6?
I think, you should get a MH Conversion bulb; ultimate veg bulb for your setup...
What you will have is stretchy plants unfortunately; the blue spectrum (what mh covers) is what produces the plants vegetative growth. It will still become a tall plant, just not bushy but Sativas you can seed from sprout to finish in 12/12 and have a 4ft dank sativa plant. Good for plants on caster wheels & a wooden plant bed + that 1000w light

Just keep them very close...Touching close almost to keep them from stretching. I veg my lights most of the time under a floro lamp...Never flowered though...Gonna try that in the coming months just to see.

Sodiums are fine to veg under, most likely better than CFL (although Fluoros aren't bad). IMO a Halide's results dont outperform Sodiums in vegging enough to make it worth getting one.
