HPS Light

I'm finally almost-not-broke and looking into upgrading to a HPS light for my grow space.
So far the cheapest deal I've found is here
Anyone know of anything cheaper? I'm not afraid of assembling a light together from parts, either.
Thank you in advance and my apologies if this has been posted before

I'm from Europe so I don't know any American shops or prices, but that looks expensive.
A complete HPS set is around $100-150 over here.

HTGsupply.com i think it is, good stuff, but hps is to much i heard since they came out with the LED light setup with the right spectrums, heard hps waste alot of light, as the LED's dont count on lumens, but the spectrum. research LED's first

I don't really think LED technology is sufficiently advanced to be cost effective in relation to HID lamps.
Yes, it does sound expensive, a 400W HPS with a decent reflector (not a cooltube kind) and ballast will cost you 80 euros.
When you do buy your setup try and make sure the ballast is compatible with both HPS and MH (metal halide) bulbs. That way, if you ever decide to use MH for vegetative growth you won't have to buy a new ballast or rewire anything. It is just as easy as changing the bulb.
I'm not sure if all digital balasts are compatible with both kinds though, maybe someone else can answer that.

Looks like I found the one I want.
$165 for an interchangeable MH-HPS
You're right Nibin. The LED only puts out 40-90 watts depending on whichever you buy. That seems minimal compared to a HID lamps, and for prices around the same or higher!

Ebay always has much better deals on growlights, you can get a new 400hps system for usually under $120 shipping included.

keep in mind if you get HPS you're going to need to ventilate it. I made the mistake years ago of buying a 400w hps and then not having money for ventilation, and ended up never using it. do some research on your space, how you're going to vent it with an HPS in there, and how much airflow you'll need.

If you go for a 400W HPS grow, you need at least one decent fan (no computer fan etc, best to use an industrial centrifugal fan) and a carbon filter for smell. Same goes for a 400W CFL grow though.

As far as going for a HPS/MH conversion kit, it really isn't necessary. HPS gives off more usable light in the proper spectrum than MH and will outperform an MH even in vegetative growth. According to Ed Rosenthal, the only benefit of MH would be in the last 2-3 weeks of flowering to raise resin production due to the fact that MH has more UVB output than HPS. Otherwise, there is no reason you need to use MH for vegetative and HPS for budding when one light is better overall.
Also, htgsupply.com is a great site. They're advertised 400w HPS is like $120 + s&h. You can also get a small 4 inch inline fan from them for like $40 and a small carbon filter for another $50. If you upgrade to the air cooled reflector, you've got yourself a great system to start with.
Best of luck to you.

Where can I find the graphs relating to the above info? I'd love to read about it as I had always read differently.
